I love how Sam stood his ground on their sport’s discussion. Given the context (younger comedian on someone else’s podcast) most people would have relented immediately.
old billy blinders when it comes to the pats. just because belichick outcoached carroll on that play doesn't mean it wasn't a horrible call. unless lynch was hurt they should have run it. and enough of the irsay rants. didn't brady destroy his cell phone when the league asked for it?
@lubler937 He did. He did it out of spite because of what bill just said. They suspended him just because they could. So he said you know what I'm going to be just as petty as you guys are. He did not destroy his phone until after the hearing was laughed out of court.
@@lubler937- yeah, his Irsay and Deflategate points are all terrible. And yes, Belichick can be good and that can still be a bad play call. If you throw it there you can't throw it into traffic. A corner fade is fine, a quick slant is not.
It's because he's just bringing people he respects and likes, not necessarily big names just for views, joe list dan soder and now Sam, these are the best comics coming out of Newyork
I never in my life thought I'd hear Bill Burr talking about the details in the environment of the Cars movie😂😂 Its that juxtaposition that makes me love this podcast
They both shared vulnerable parts of themselves (more so bill) but this is a true mentor student sort of relationship. Really heartwarming especially when bill said "Im gonna be there im gonna come see your show". Respect for both of em.
Nia deserves everything she has and more for putting up with Bill. Did anyone notice how fired up he got about the Super Bowl? Didn’t relent until he heard what he wanted from Sam.
Bill acknowledging Sam’s talent, originality and voice is spot on! Hahaha remember that video where a heckler is yelling at Sam “You sound like Batman!”?! Had me dying laughing ‘cause that’s so accurate 😂 Sam embodies so perfectly that classic NYC comedian vibe. Definitely one of the best ever, forget about his generation. And he has a great laugh as well! Thanks for inviting him, Bill! Loved this. - Big fan from Italy
I loved every second of this conversation. Sam pulled Bill's card on the football subject, then just hung on to it and watched the meltdown. Haha. I love both of these guys.
Tbh I like the solo episodes too. I find Bill's rage at the world cathartic when I'm commuting to work and internally raging at every other driver on the road.
I saw Bill at the Chicago Theater in 2013! And yes, I got a picture with the marquee behind me. It was a great show! Met him at the Potbelly sandwich shop across the street from the theater before the show, he was just in line ordering a sandwich. I believe the line he gave me after I said hi was "I suppose you want a picture or something, huh?" 😆
@@garyny4073 If you listen to the podcast, Bill wants to do things that regulars do, he doesn't want to see the Museum of Taxicabs in NYC. He wants to go to a sandwich shop like regular locals do. 7:35 Lmfao 🤣 Lego Batman is ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS 😂 😂😂😂 I’ve been saying it for years!!!!! And for some of the exact same reasons Bill laid out 👍👍👏👏👏😂(7:188:29) “I’m Batman, I’m awesome, I’ve got a 9 pack” lmfao 😂 🤣🤣🤣👏👏
A timing pass in traffic from the one yard line is not a 100% safe play call. It doesn't matter if it hadn't resulted in a turnover that year, it's just a relatively safe play that didn't have a recent bad result. Keeping the ball on the ground is safer
Bill embarrassing himself yet again in the Pats/Seahawks argument. Sam absolutely cooked him, but it’s his comedy hero so he kind of let it go. Much like when people in the crime world let their boss win in poker games out of fear. The pass could could end in a turnover. A Lynch run could almost never end in a turnover. It was a god awful decision and an even worse play call. If they could’ve stopped time right at the moment before the snap of that Wilson INT you could have asked any person alive and probably 90+% of people would’ve told you not to call that play. This isn’t some hindsight Monday Morning Quarterbacking.
Exactly. I'm not even a football nut, but the probability of a turnover occurring raises exponentially when you risk throwing the ball. You can admit it was great foresight by Belichick but ALSO argue that it was a stupid play call. I like that Sam dug his heels in, because he wqs right.
@@Adtrevino37 no, we all got his point. He was just wrong is all. Was that pass play likely to end in a turnover? Surely not. But it was much more likely than handing the ball to Lynch. Lunch doesn’t get in? (Even tho he just picked up 4 yards in 1st and goal from the 5) Then you still have 2 more tries to get in from the 1. Without one timeout in your pocket still. Clearly they tried to score. So wasn’t like they were purposely trying to not score to use the entire game clock. You decide to throw a pass into heavy traffic? With the SB on the line? If you’re throwing a jump ball or corner end zone fade or something like that, it would be a tad more understandable. That’s a “my guy gets it or no one does” play. It’s 2nd and goal. If you’re trying to score, GIVE THE BALL TO LYNCH.
Omg …ok more if this please. 😂 “I feel like I’m in a relationship right now” Jesus I don’t even follow sports & I died laughing at these two! Sam- is called Vibriosis ; 😂 🎣

"Cars" did it for me when a) the clouds were tire tracks; 2) when the "bugs" bumping into the windshields were VW Beetles, and; 3) when Cheech's character Ramone says "!Hijo a la chingar! (Sonofabitch/Holy shit!) after Lightning revs the engine before racing the Judge.

55:00 for the record I don't remember when this debate started, or how long ago the last joke was attempted, but I know nothing about football, and I understand agree with both Sam and Billy Starblaster, That's how good their exchange is.
Gotta disagree with Bill on the Marshawn Lynch call. I yelled at how dumb it was to throw as it was happening, not after. And it wasn’t just that they threw, it was the kind of throw. To call a slant over the middle 100% safe, is nuts. How big of a sample was there during the season? Couldn’t have been many. If you throw, do a safer throw with a rollout to the sideline or something. It’s also dumb cause the situation was that Lynch had run right down the Pats throat to get down there and the pats looked tired. Analytics may think throwing is right, but that’s only if you totally ignore all the extra information we knew going into the play.
Ha! I was exactly where you were. Yelling at the TV in total disbelief, knowing in my gut what was going to happen. Everyone in the room - from both sides - was looking at each other in confusion over the play call immediately after it happened. A slant pass into such condensed traffic is the worst possible call in that situation.
I love how Sam stood his ground on their sport’s discussion. Given the context (younger comedian on someone else’s podcast) most people would have relented immediately.
Mr Morril's pretty darn serious himself about his sports, is why. And I reckon Bill could get behind that too. "Did I not just explain ?" 👺lmao
