I just began to watch about , and couldn't stop to the end. This was a very friendly, educative, and entertaining meeting about security, with one of the biggest (if not the biggest) hackers ever. Thank U.
I have put this video on the watch later list for quite a long time and after know that Kevin had passed away I decide to watch it. Kevin is one of 'my idol' in information technology and hacking. R.I.P. Kevin.
Everyone is so scared that not volunteering to provide credit card was fine but they are even scared to give their proximity cards :D That's when you can feel the power of fear :D New form of Social Engineering. No codes required :D
I'm fairly certain that the PDF hack has been patched. However most companies are horrible at patching their third party applications and plugins. So, its been patched but probably still works at most places.
Zero Cool? Crashed fifteen hundred and seven computers in one day? Biggest crash in history, front page New York Times August 10th, 1988. I thought you was black man. YO THIS IS ZERO COOL!
Can this type of hacking/ spoofing work on the wireless network I have set up at home? I's suppose to be secure with a password. Is there a way to tell if an Adobe Flash update is for real or what is the best way to protect my systems? Honestly, I'm very ignorant in this area but I do know not to connect to insecure wireless networks like at McDonald's.
C Warren No, this specific attack wouldn't work on a secured home wifi (unless the hacker does get access to it). A good protection for your wifi is for it not to cover more area than your house. If it's impossible to connect to your wifi from accross the street, that could be a problem for a would be hacker to have to actually break in to your house. As for "protecting your system", that's too vast of a question to answer in a youtube comment. It all depends on what you use your computer to do, what you want to protect yourself from and what are you willing to do to ensure your protection. For example you could use a VPN service and connect through TOR to ensure the safety and anonymity of your internet connection, but it could cost you money and slow down your connection (and it's easy to get it wrong voiding the benefit of anonymity while making you suspicious because of the fact that you tried...) P.S : As for adobe, I disabled the updates popups and go update it manually from time to time. Carefull though, outdated softwares may also cause vulnerabilities.
FBI's Most Wanted Hacker doesn't know how to use scroll bars on mac :P Amazing guy, he is the reason we keep getting better and better security :D if there were more people like him we would have a safer web :D
Kevin is a reminder that innovation is the next level to peace, our security systems(be it phone or networks) are no longer crap as it used to be in the 80's. But great speech.
@@vandamieespadero6633 Yeah me too but your comment says that "hacking" as a whole shouldn't be criminalized by the government. If we did live in a perfect world where nobody used hacking for bad then I'd agree but that's not how it works and there are many hackers out there doing malicious things to innocent people. Learning hacking is entirely legal, you're just not allowed to do malicious things, which you have to agree is a good rule?
Motorola story at least time line is a lie. Cell phones then did not last that long without recharging. It would have died halfway to his house. I had one in -97 that lasted maybe 45 mins max one a full charge.

I learned something new with Kevin Mitnik and it's about "hacking", hacking is a habit or game but because we have a law so it's a crime.

@@CH-zw2gm I'm not talking of stealing money or spreading someone's information, for me it's fun to hack just for curiosity not to be a bad hacker.
