I like how they handled the dialogue in 4. The town felt very alive and the characters very connected. Don't think I've ever seen something like that in any other game. Made me want to talk to every NPC every day just to see what they had to say, or what conversations they might have. Also, 4's gameplay is the best. But overall, I think I liked Frontier the most. Edit: Still have to play the first game though...
Yup when talking about daily conversation rf 4 the best as far, already 3 years, and their dialogue always changes, yeah there's some time they using repeated dialogue
I am buying a switch just for rune factory 5. That’s how much this game series impacted my childhood! When I heard they went bankrupt and wouldn’t make more rune factory games I was devastated, but I never gave up hope! This game series contained everything I loved, dating sim, farming and dungeons! It’s just so golden 😣
Well there's a game for everyone. I too purchased the system mainly for one game but... There's a lot of interesting games on Switch. Was this really your ONLY reason to buy one? I have like 30+ games in my Switch library already lol
Watching them all back to back, I think RF4's opening is actually the best. The music is a perfect blend of peaceful and adventurous. The animation is pretty and actually goes with the song, and it doesn't give too much screentime to any one bachelorette...Which the first two, as cute as they are, are very guilty of.
This reply is late asf but I think the biggest issue they had was translating the songs to english in Rune factory 1 2 and 3 for NA/europe versions of the game. The 3rd one doesn't sound so bad in english but the 1st one is absolutely hard to understand what they're even saying in english. I also love rune factory 4's soundtrack. I suggest checking the rf4 special new opening too that ones fantastic
the fact that mana is crying the op of rune factory 2 is the fact when kyle disappeared and when you think of it the op theme is about mana reminiscing his time with kyle though you will able see kyle again in end

While Oceans and Frontier will always be my favourite, I have to say that RF4's opening is my favourite. It gives off that.... Adventurous feel. And it shows off the characters in a very good way while clearly showing which ones are the ones you can marry in a way.

Mikau Black Runeys are evil incarnate. I didn't figure them out until after they had gone extinct. The dolphin emulator should let you use cheats to avoid dealing with them. Type in a code to get prosperity.
explodofart I actually started using a code to always have Max Runeys 80% through the game. It definitely allowed me to finish up the Snow Ruins with a much more relaxed pace. In all seriousness, the Runey system is a total chore and actually is broken, I'm glad they didn't use it again in later games.

Favorite song: RF 3 first opening, the more catchy of them all IMO. Favorite animation: Frontier, because all girls get at least a moment in the spotlight.
I dunno why but I really love RF3's opening. Especially its english. The only one I havent played from these is the frontier. My favorite is RF2. Yeah, second gen, baby!
I loved all the rune factories but to this day Frontier was my favorite and playing the protag from the first game was sick to me, really happy to find out we are getting another console runefactory.
RF1: The one with the most nostalgia. Don’t like that they ship you with Mist though. RF2: I like how similar it sounds to the RF1 OP. Still don’t like how they ship you with Mana though. I actually prefer the second OP with the kids. RFF: Nothing but happy memories, song is upbeat and fun and the visuals are fun too. RF3: Songs seem sad but sound beautiful. Don’t like being shipped with Shara though. RFO: Honestly think these OPs have the best visuals hands down. Everything is drawn so cleanly and beautifully and it doesn’t get super busy like the other OPs. Also like how they loop together and that they have different tones. Kinda combine the slow and sad OP from 3 and the upbeat and happy OP from Frontier. Sadly this is my least favorite RF game lol RF4: Sweet, warm, happy memories. My favorite game of the series. RF5: Funky and sassy OP that reminds me of Persona 5. Can’t wait to play it!

I wish I could go back in time when I was a child playing rune factory frontier and rune factory 2 😭 I was so obsessed with the iris twins and the singing in that plaza. I cried so much in the rune factory 2 plot when the dad goes missing and loved the marriage aspect even the little play marriage as the kid.
my first ever rune factory was 2, my brother decided to pick it up then me and my other brother got it too, that was back idk 2008 maybe. we got rf1 right after and have been dedicated ever since, im proud to say rune factory was a big part of my childhood and I hope for the day when rf5 isnt just a pipe dream.

小学生の頃に新牧場物語やって、バグ多いしレベル全然上がらないし難しかったけど、面白くて、それから2,3,フロンティア、オーシャンズ、4ってやってルンファク大好きになったのに、もう続編出ないって知ってものすごくショックだった。仕方ないことだけど寂しかった。同じスタッフが制作した禁忌のマグナもやったけど、物足りなくて、ルンファクの世界観が大好きでシリーズを何周もプレイした。
1年前にルンファク5制作決定したってきいた時は驚いて夢みたいでとにかく嬉しかった。大好きな作品をもう一度プレイできるんだって。でもそれから5の情報が全く出なくて、不安で、毎日ルンファク5で検索かけてた。
そしてついに。ルンファク5来年の春。よかった。泣いた。予定より遅れたけど全然いい。8年に比べたらすぐだもん。まてるよ。まつよ。ありがとうルンファクシリーズ。一生ついていきます。大好き！

***** The only thing that I hate about Frontier: The freaking Runey system. Over that, it definitely's my favorite RF, followed by 3.
Mikau Black Runeys are evil incarnate. I didn't figure them out until after they had gone extinct. The dolphin emulator should let you use cheats to avoid dealing with them. Type in a code to get prosperity.
explodofart I actually started using a code to always have Max Runeys 80% through the game. It definitely allowed me to finish up the Snow Ruins with a much more relaxed pace.
In all seriousness, the Runey system is a total chore and actually is broken, I'm glad they didn't use it again in later games.

@@velma_verao Play 4. It's objectively better gameplay wise, and I liked the story better as well. It's the best RF ever made in my opinion.
I came here out of pure nostalgia, since I played 4 back when it came out... man, do I wish there was a 5.

its been 10 years since playing rune factory 3.
damn.... time flies fast.
Im just going to say Rune Factory 4s opening is the best because it was the only one so beautiful and amazing it made me want to cry.

I loved all the rune factories but to this day Frontier was my favorite and playing the protag from the first game was sick to me, really happy to find out we are getting another console runefactory.

RF1: The one with the most nostalgia. Don’t like that they ship you with Mist though.
RF2: I like how similar it sounds to the RF1 OP. Still don’t like how they ship you with Mana though. I actually prefer the second OP with the kids.
RFF: Nothing but happy memories, song is upbeat and fun and the visuals are fun too.
RF3: Songs seem sad but sound beautiful. Don’t like being shipped with Shara though.
RFO: Honestly think these OPs have the best visuals hands down. Everything is drawn so cleanly and beautifully and it doesn’t get super busy like the other OPs. Also like how they loop together and that they have different tones. Kinda combine the slow and sad OP from 3 and the upbeat and happy OP from Frontier. Sadly this is my least favorite RF game lol
RF4: Sweet, warm, happy memories. My favorite game of the series.
RF5: Funky and sassy OP that reminds me of Persona 5. Can’t wait to play it!

I wish I could go back in time when I was a child playing rune factory frontier and rune factory 2 😭 I was so obsessed with the iris twins and the singing in that plaza. I cried so much in the rune factory 2 plot when the dad goes missing and loved the marriage aspect even the little play marriage as the kid.

my first ever rune factory was 2, my brother decided to pick it up then me and my other brother got it too, that was back idk 2008 maybe. we got rf1 right after and have been dedicated ever since, im proud to say rune factory was a big part of my childhood and I hope for the day when rf5 isnt just a pipe dream.
