I recently read that those concerts were the biggest shows in Italy till now. Louis' show in Milan next year is supposed to be the biggest one after that.
@@solaria85 if your talking just about 1d/solo concert, then yes. louis' concert on August 4, 2022 will be at the Lorenzini district (8k ppl) and then he'll perform at the san siro hippodrome with a capacity of 20k people not at the stadium (milano festival summer 3/9/2022) however they weren't the biggest shows in Italy, I went to Vasco Rossi concert at the Modena Park 2017 and we were like 200k people, also Ed sheeran concert in Florence 2019 was huge (65k). Harry's concert was a bit smaller 18k (Bologna) and 12k (Milano) :)

A group of fans coordinated with a company that does these types of things and the stadium let said group of fans into the venue early so they could set up the entire thing, place the pieces of plastic on each seat depending on the color/flag they were, etc. The boys knew nothing about it so they were surprised when it happened. Logistically? Twitter. Fan projects are usually organized by one twitter account that starts by just one person or possibly a friend group of fans having an idea and just running with it. Sometimes working with major update accounts for the boys as well to help spread the word. These accounts would be coordinating for a specific city or tour stop/date and what you do, or I should say what we used to anyway, is we would look up the name of the tour with the name of your city or the stadium that they were playing in and you'd be able to find a fan project usually under a #hashtag of something going on on almost every show on the road. Every city had something new and different for them that was also unique to where they were for that night of the tour. I was privileged to be a part of two fan projects in my days of one direction concerts, both in 2015 for OTRA tour, we were so lucky to be on the floor level for both of these concerts. Seattle we all held up gold stars, and then again a few days later in Vancouver Canada we all held up printed out Canadian flags with 1D in the middle of the leaf on the flag and they said welcome back or we love you across it as well.
I just stumbled on this again and I'm still so flabbergasted. It is stuff like this that just makes it... like why we still support them and adore them and YES their songs are still fucking awesome.

At the concert, there were almost 120,000 seated fans and standing fans. The project with the flags and the lettering was made by the fans who circulated these ideas on twitter and then contact those who had to ask for the various permits, were brought in these volunteers hours before the concert to be able to fix everything. Italy and the world love one direction and they showed it to them. Sometimes it’s nice to be Italian, even if I didn’t follow them and I didn’t go, although Milan is not far from where I live, it’s still a great satisfaction to see what they are and we managed to do.

I love this song so much first of all. It’s my favorite 1D song. And it’s a fan project! There’s a video on the official San Siro dvd where the person who planned this fan project talked about it, I believe. I’m sure the video is somewhere on youtube. But like yeah, lots of concerts have these fan projects like these where the instructions get spread online and everyone sort of gets in on it to know what needs to be done during what song. It’s a whole thing, it’s very involved. The person who did this project though, got permission somehow from the stadium people to place the squares at every seat so everyone would have something to hold up so that the picture looked right.
The feeling that fans did this years ago not knowing how the band will turn the page give me goosebumps,Like they just did it in their love and crazziness but even years ago that remains legendary.A huge thankyou to every fan who struggled to do that.

if you see the whole of the san siro concert, they have explained how they managed all this. honestly there were like 3 projects in this concert itself. and throughout all others there's always one. this was the craziest one though. do best song ever from this concert, that was the last one. but also the mv cause its just iconic

I love this song so much first of all. It’s my favorite 1D song. And it’s a fan project! There’s a video on the official San Siro dvd where the person who planned this fan project talked about it, I believe. I’m sure the video is somewhere on youtube. But like yeah, lots of concerts have these fan projects like these where the instructions get spread online and everyone sort of gets in on it to know what needs to be done during what song. It’s a whole thing, it’s very involved.
The person who did this project though, got permission somehow from the stadium people to place the squares at every seat so everyone would have something to hold up so that the picture looked right.

some fans were allowed hours before the concert and i think stadium and their tour managers co-ordinated so they put each colour paper on each seat and this wasn't their last performance of that night

Wondering if I'm the only one who feels really sad seeing all 5 of them perfoming on one stage?.. I wanna go back in time so badly sometimes. I've never ever had a chance to go to one of their shows and dance and sing with the crowd. It was my dream and now I realize it will never come true :( Wouldn't trade this fandom for another tho, my teenage years were the best with these wonderful boys and thousands of online friends

after one direction ‘disbanded’, i have never truly seen any fandom that ever create these creative fan projects like 1D fans did back in the days. we were so united, each concerts all around the world there were gotta be projects done. this one was the most successful, and the coordinated balloons. and speaking of another fan projects, of course the infamous No Control project. where we, fans all around the world, set a date and decided to make No Control being played in radios all over the world. I took a part of requesting local radios to play No Control, and i’m from Indonesia. that day was amazinggg. Directioners you are the best, i miss you😭
