  • The Lafitte Greenway is a long, green biking and walking trail from the French Quarter to Mid-City. It's a useful way between these neighborhoods, and along the way, it's got huge sculptures and murals, cafes and restaurants, and some beautiful landscaping, plus vestiges of a 1700s shipping canal.

Greenway Plaza is the site of the old Orleans Parish Brake Inspection Station, where everyone had to have their car inspected annually (headlights, horn, turn signals, etc.), when you were issued your "brake tag" that had to be displayed in the corner of your windshield to the driver's left. I think it was closed sometime in the 1990s.

Great info and interesting background. But you were turning those gorgeous Miss. River are installations a bit too fast. lol! I got dizzy and it was hard to see the branched of the river. But overall, great info about it and very informative video. Love your stuff! Thanks!!

So good to see you Andrew! Always the very best in everything you do. Could you please, if possible, do a video on scooter or moped tours about the city. I of course know this is Tours by Foot but for someone with mobility issues information on this would be invaluable. Where to ride, rent and tour would be so very much appreciated. All you guys keep up the excellent videos! Thank you.

I saw you were looking for new ideas for videos on previous one I watched. I'm new to channel from the West Bank. Are you familiar with the restaurant named Moscas on Hwy. 90 east in Avondale? It's an old mafia hangout and has a lot of history. I've heard the original owner chef who's family still runs it. Was Al Capone's personal chef before coming here back then. Family may or may not be willing to discuss. But worth a shot. Do some research you'll see the significance and it's cash only so bring cash if you go? Also Old Point Bar and Old Gretna would be two good videos I believe. Can mention Gretna Fest, Numerous restaraunt's, old, Da Wabbit, The Real Pie Man, RiverShack, Common Grounds, Gattusos, La Fiesta oldest Mexican restaurant on stumpf blvd. courthouses in Algiers point and Gretna historic Courthouse, Mcdonaughville', Federal City, Mardi Gras World, Underneath the CCC is a nice view I bet viewers would love. Old steam locomotive that's in Downtown Gretna, Condos in Algiers on the river, there's a place to eat at the foot of the ferry in Algiers as well. It's comparative to the city with the greenery and house designs. First settlement on the West Bank as well. Also Tony Mandenas Italian restaurant in Gretna,David Crockett fire house. Oldest in the nation.
