If you went back 30 or 40 years ago this type of winter would not be considered unusual. It used to be normal for places like Atlanta to get snow once or twice a year. The winters in the south have just gotten warmer over the last 15 years.
Hi Chris, great information. Any way you could give me some weather information for Flat Rock, NC? Asheville is always given, but we are closer to Hendersonville. Thanks
Why is it always easier to know for sure when it will be cold but not if there will be moisture. Are models not made to pinpoint exact location of moisture becuse of topography, geography, etc?
Doubtful it changes with the amount of cold dry air that will be over us, and even if something did happen to form over the gulf it would have to take the picture perfect track for it to remain all snow SC, doesn’t matter how how much cold air is in place when the gulf’s warm air always rides in with 95% of the storms, it could be 0 degrees and the warm air would still win out unless it takes that perfect track that I was talking about, the chance of that happening is somewhere around 5% but hey anything is possible.
This is what winter is SUPPOSED to feel like! I'm enjoying it so much.
Ditto! I love it! 👍😁👍
Hear, hear!
