Maybe not 💯. A person went to our beloved prophet Muhammad PBUH
I want to become Muslim but I’m only going to read 2 namaz All the Sahabis got angry who is he to put conditions etc . Our Prophet muhammmed pbuh replied quiet to his companions sahabis said the man it’s fine you read 2 . The sahabis said y Our prophet pbuh replied let him come accept Islam slowly he will read 3 4 5 namaz . Some time later the sahabis witnessed the man reading not only 5 but tahujjud namaz aswell .
Ignored other do your best .

No one knows life after death, only narratives of what happens when we die are in Hadith, Quran tells us of judgment day and we will stand before god.

Well guys, I don't believe in gods, heaven or hell. To me they're just invented by humans. An early version of hell was invented in Ancient Egypt about 5000 yrs ago. It has that "day of judgement" belief where the good people go to Aaru (heaven) and the bad people are condemned to the "lake of fire" (hell). Thousands of years later this heaven/hell idea was borrowed and adapted by Christianity and Islam, and many other religions in between. It's kinda crazy when you realize how these myths passed down and evolved into different versions over time. Humans keep inventing new religions and just borrowed pieces of older religions. Jesus, for example, is actually a fictional character borrowed and adapted from the Krishna story in Hinduism. Don't get me started on that one, you'll be surprised.
Still a great conversation which I enjoyed. Respectfully though, I got one little criticism of Gramps.. Telling grandson to do things which make Allah happy is a little cruel. It's like threatening a child with eternal torture (hell) if he doesn't always please a god. Better ease back on that type of talk in my opinion. Just my 2 cents. Love and peace brothers.

    Interesting podcast Harris!
This harshness is driving people away from Islam.
Sinners judging sinners, for sinning differently.
If people were more self-critical, they would have mercy on others and realise we all have our shortcomings.
We should be teaching the importance of good character and conduct. Instead further divisions are being created.
My wife is a revert, I understand your challenges.
We need to stick to the middle road and make things easier for people (where possible). People's understanding of Islam is fallible.
May Allah SWT enlighten our hearts and develop our minds. Ameen 🤲🏼
