Brianna looks like she’s a child prodigy/genius. Like Matilda, she was born to abusive parents who didn’t understand her and just thought she was weird. Daniel met Brianna when she walked herself his university and began to sit in on his class. She was the brightest student he ever had and so he took an interest into her life and later adopted her.
This she loves books and school!

Yes. Mainly the father was abusive, and the mum treated her as weird and socially deficient. When her mum died suddenly and horrifically in a rollercoaster tragedy, her father turned to drink and was completely and utterly ignoring her. She missed several classes due to carrying all the adult responsibilities in the home while still grieving (kids seem to always love their mothers no matter what). Daniel was concerned greatly and looked into it. etc... I wouldn't wish foster care on anyone (not even a pixelated one).

Breanna is Nia's niece. Her mum, Nia's sister, died in a freak boating accident while on vacation to Sulani so Nia adopted her. Breanna is so great that she inspired Nia and Daniel to adopt more kids

Not really a back story for the adopted children, but as a side note, possibly the mayor works closely with Nyx the superhero saving citizens, the children that are saved could possibly be adopted by these guys?! Just a thought 😊

I have CONSISTENTLY said you show diversity in such an authentic way (as much as you can!). I LOVED not only seeing relevant styles for the decade but the consistency of Nias hair texture and array of styles. I speak on this specifically as a Black woman. And I LOVE IT.

I think a simple story is best, a story about ordinary people with ordinary qualities and flaws. So, for Brianna, I imagine she is a product of a teenage affair, where the dad did not acknowledge the pregnancy or child, and the mum was neither financially, emotionally, and intellectually mature or capable of taking a child on. So she gave Bri up to the arms of foster care in hopes of Bri finding a better life. (Which she has might I add from that wonderful fairytale storyline🤭) But what Bri lacks in terms of biological parents, she makes up for it in terms of compassion.
I am at the point in the video where you are introducing the little girl. Before I learn anything else, I wanted to pitch my storyline request. Could there be a child and a teen (the genders do not matter) who are full on siblings. They lose their parents to a horrible tragedy and there is no other family members to take them in. Prospective parents want babies or children, so the older sibling is not even looked at and want to split them up. The Garcia family meets them and sees their close bond and decides to adopt them both, which leads them into adopting another teen.....just a thought.
I like this idea. But what if you make them some kind of occult, so they look normal but their powers awaken in their teens, so the teen's powers awaken some days after the save file starts..!
They could be twins!
Breanna is a quiet child, made nervous from a life where she couldn’t fit in. Not with her parents, who never once had the time of day for her, and not at the Foster Home, where the children were boisterous. She grew up to be timid, yet fiercely passionate about art, always doodling and painting because it was the one hobby where she was able to fade into the background and not be a bother to her parents or draw the attention of the other children. She became skilled as a result. She also loves to sing, fitting in with the musical background of her new home, but only recently found this love as she finally has a space where she can announce her existence. Being adopted by Nia and Daniel was the best thing to happen to her. They encourage her passions in both art and singing, and they make sure she knows she has people to rely on - her upbringing made her incredibly independent - as Nia and Daniel are more than happy to take care of her health and happiness. She is loved, and she is always warm, and she is never wanting for anything, but she knows that if she were, she need only ask. As a result, she’s matured into a confident young woman with a talent in painting she hopes will get noticed soon. She’s closer to Daniel, as the two are homebodies, but she loves Nia and looks up to her as a role model - Breanna wants nothing more than to use her art to reach out to people any way she can, and when she makes it big, she already plans to donate to Foster homes and other charities that would help make kids who are in her childhood situation bloom and grow as she was able to.
Seeing as you’ve introduced the idea of adopted children, I feel for your next Let’s build the world series in Henford you should make a foster family. 7 kids (2 teens, 3 kids, 1 toddler, 1 infant) so that way any storylines you don’t get to use from this comment section for this current family can go to them!
I love your little story intros. They remind me of old school Sims Machinemas (the good ones, not the weird ones 🤣).
I think the house should be full of objects belonging to the children's cultures to keep them connected to their origins
Hey Aiden! Don't normally comment on your videos, but this apartment is lush, and I love the Garcia family's storyline. Here's what I got for Brianna's:
Originally from the city's Spice District, Brianna was growing up poor but happy, spending her days at home; a child prodigy in drawing. Her adoptive mother, Penny, and her girlfriend Geraldine raised Brianna like their own, but tragedy struck when an attempt to stop a bar fight mortally wounded Geraldine. Penny was distraught by her death and passed away from Broken Heart Syndrome only a few months later, leaving Brianna with no family left to care for her. She spent that next year in Foster Care, but was fortunately adopted by Nia and Daniel.
I think a nice idea would be Daniel and Brianna having one of the closest bonds in the family (behind him and Nia's marriage), with a shared love for all things art.
Brianna’s mother was a single mom who was a former student of Daniel’s. Daniel mentored Brianna’s mom and allowed her to bring her young daughter to class to allow her to stay in school. They kept in touch over the years. Sadly the mom passed away in an accident and Daniel decided to adopt her.
Brianna's original name was Guppy. As a psychology professor Daniel's last research study was on relationships and power structures in cult settings and he was working in Brindleton Bay.
Guppy was being raised within The Way of the Fish and immediately bonded with Daniel. Eventually the fish folk decided that the time had come to release Guppy into the wider "ocean" for fear that her potential was being stifled by her isolation and, given Daniel's credentials and the fact they were already approved foster carers Guppy was placed immediately into their care.
The "de-fishification" process began and over time Guppy has learned about world outside the island and, the day her adoption was made official, she announced she would now be going by Brianna.
Having spent her early childhood in an entirely adult background Daniel and Lia feel it is really to help Brianna build meaningful relationships with other children so they are hoping the other additions planned to their family will help in that regard.
They also look forward to the day she stops climbing into the fish tank.

Could Breanna have been born in Chestnut Ridge into a tumultuous household with parents who loved Nectar a little too much? The only thing that kept Breanna going was the Carter sisters on the radio which made Breanna long for siblings.
She was eventually given up for adoption, and due to the lack of families looking to adopt in Chestnut Ridge, she was transferred to a children’s home in San Myshuno.
Now she’s amazed that she lives in the same building as her idols 💖
My grandfather's childhood actually would make for a good storyline for any of the adopted kids: Their family was very poor and their father was unfortunately killed (from falling off a tree in my grandfathers case) and their mother was unable to care for them as a single uneducated mother, so she took the child to an orphanage and the mother still was very much in their lives and visited when she could but the child was adopted, however the adoptive family allowed the mother to remain in the child's life to visit and experience all of the big life events of her child. I feel like the Garcia's would be the type of people to allow the mother to remain a large part of the child's life.
Maybe on one of her business trips for her mayoral duties they travelled for a few days to Tomarang where they visited the shelter and met Brianna, who liked to help taking care of the tigers and there she told them that she was an orphan and they decided to adopt her because they saw her love for the animals and they wanted to become their parents in order to be by her side and watch her grow.
An idea for one of the teens in the family.. "He wound up as an homeless teen where he ended up finding solace within the anarchist community. During a protest that unfortunately turned violent, he was detained and (being a minor) quickly put back into the foster care system. Nia and Daniel heard his story and decided to take him into their care, they admired his willingness to stand up for what he believes in and are trying to teach him that there are different ways to protest, by getting deeper education and working towards "fighting the system" from the inside. Reluctant to their love and teachings at first, but slowly warming up to them especially after Daniel sat down with him and they bonded over their love for the same punk bands from the 80's." I picture their "sim story" as a teen added to the household then they eventually adopt him when their relationships build. I also dont necessarily picture this teen as a "he" whatever feels right for you, "he, she, they, etc." Much love, your work inspires me all the time, thank you for all that you do.

I love how the flashback to uni was so quintessential 80's and then sitting at the kitchen table with her 90's computer. It made it feel so realistic 😊

I like the storyline that Breanna is Nia's adopted niece, whose mom passed away.
whoever comes into the home, they should all have a high relationship with the Carter sisters. I imagine the sister's absolutely love the Garcia family, an even endorsed her mayoral run and sang at her inauguration.
Storyline for Brianna: Brianna used to live in Sulani with her parents and her younger brother. Her dad was a local fisherman and his wife occasionally used to join him on boat trips when there was a lot to do.
One day her parents were out to sea when a catastrophic tsunami hit the shores. Brianna tried to escape with her younger brother and her grandma who was taking care of them on the day, but they were all separated in the chaos of surviving... sadly Brianna's parents never came back..
A wildlife rescuer from San Myshuno was there when the tsunami hit, and a after a few days of helping out survivors, he found Brianna in the rescue center and brought her back to San Myshuno for her to be adopted ❤
Maybe Briannas brother was actually her older brother, being a young teenager. After adopting Brianna, they find out that her brother actually also survived the tsunami, and then decide to adopt him too, bringing the two of them together again ❤

this is awesome and reminded me of my aunt. She is an absolutely amazing woman and has adopted 8 children.
One of their kids, my cousin, Syed was adopted from India at the age of three. When she and my uncle went to pick up Syed at the airport he had plastic shoes he'd made, some shorts and a tank top. My uncle said Syed was sweet and timid. He was found wandering the streets of India all alone as his mother left him there. Syed is wonderful. He's selfless, kind, and full of life. He tried to find his birth mom but they were never able to locate her. Syed told me that it was ok that he didn't find his bio mom because his real mother was Claudia (my aunt), and she was the reason he chose to live his life filled with joy and love for everyone around him.
Omg! That backstory made my eyes brim and my heart swell. You have such a wonderful way with character creation! You made me want to get to know these people

Aden, the intro WAS FIRE!!! 🔥🔥 LOVE IT!!! Their place is so welcoming. Might I suggest some type of architectural element to separate the kitchen/dining space from the living/family space? Maybe the wide doorframe in debug from Bantu (that you introduced me to!). The furniture placement is on-point (per usual!) but I think this could elevate the space even more.

For your next world: Henford on Bagley it would be HILARIOUS if you made a sim who was a British archeologist that looks like an old fashioned lad (brown tweed & cap) but has the mouth of a sailor & has a side hobby of LARPing/battle re-enactments! 😂
Brianna has always lived in the building but there was a fire in her apartment , her dad died and her mum is in a coma , they took Brianna in whilst her mum recovers sparking there interest in adoption , Brianna mum hasn't woken up so they have adopted her, she paints alot to get her feeling out as she is grieving but confused as her mum is still alive but she cant be with her

16:58, completely agree, I tend to have freelancer writers in my household and the PCs always look…off 🫤 idk why the sims team prioritise “quirky” swatches and designs for every single item; makes it hard to mesh everything together.

She could be destined for great things now she’s a part of a loving home while still healing from the trauma of her past. I saw another comment mention Matilda, and I love that as her “past life” story, and this is the “Miss Honey” chapter of her life where she is nurtured and thriving. It would be cool if she gets into rocket science when she’s older because in her younger years she looked to space and the stars for hope in the darker times. Would be cool if her age up trait is loner. Like an introverted genius homebody.

I'm transgender FtM and my given name is Nia!!! You are the ONLY PERSON who pronounced it right! Literally the ONLY PERSON!!! ugh I am now a forever fan, I mean I was always but now yes I am
Did you know Nia means Purpose in Swahili? My mother went through 8 miscarriages before she had me then after she had me she had a stroke that paralyzed her so she couldn't hold me but she was determined to hold her first baby her miracle baby and she practiced walking, so on Christmas she held me for the first time. My mother passed on the 14th of September but I absolutely love my name she gave me even though men aren't called Nia so I kept my given name even though I go by my choice name.
I absolutely LOVE that you named your sim Nia and I absolutely LOVE that you pronounced it right.
Sorry I heard my name on the TV and got so excited I had to write out my story I do apologize for that love but it should show you just how much I adore my given name.

I can see Brianna being the queen bee of the school, perfect socialite who excels at cheerleading and very kind. Her parents were irresponsible and did not take care of her but she still wanted to excel with her grades and such.

Not sure how deep to go with this but gonna say Brianna was adopted for the same reason I was adopted, Briannas biological mother grew up in an abusive household which in turn caused her biological mother to lead a a teenage life of drugs and alcohol queue getting accidentally pregnant, with no with looking after her and social services involved because of everything going briannas biological mum gave brianna up for adoption because she was to unwell to look after her

Both of briannas parents were killed in a horrific horse accident (ranch pack input ha). She had no other family living so had to be taken into care. These two lovely people have taken her in as their own, she's quite scared of horses but her new parents want to help her with her fears and maybe in the future buy her her own horse 🐎 xxx
Brianna, is originally from moonlit falls.
Her parents fell victim to a werewolf attack, while her father was killed her mother was bitten.
Falling deeply into the pack life, her mother began neglecting her duties and little Brianna was forgotten as her mother lost herself to the rage and climbed ranks quickly to pack alpha.
Feeling sorry for Brianna one of the members of a rival pack, took Brianna in and helped her get out of Moonlit Falls where she became part of the system.
Quiet, she is withdrawn and trying to find her place in the big city with her new family. She loves music and reading and can often be found acting out her favorite stories as a way to process her heavy past.

Breanna was the daughter of a Strangerville scientist Mum and a Military dad. Her mother was into plants and used to experiment and ended up becoming the motherplant and her father was sent crazy by it. In the big cover up of the problem, Nia became involved due to being a Government official as they had to get Baby Breanna out of Strangerville (and out the hands of the Strangerville Government) so the whole thing wasn't suspicious. Nia sees this as the opportunity to finally have the child her and her partner always longed for, and this is why Breanna is the first of her adopted children!

I found that Funny ;) Especially after the Fact that Breanna listens to one of the Carter Sisters playing the Violin. I already liked the idea that Breanna is Nia's Niece, but @Sophie-wq6eo only mentioned Breanna's Mom, maybe her Father is a famous Musician and decided that his Lifestyle is not the best for a little girl to grow up. He never played a big part in her life, to begin with, he has a good relationship with her estranged Father, but their relationship is more of an Uncle and his Niece who see each other only for the Holidays, not like a Father and his Daughter. He and Breanna talked with each other after Nia's Sister died tragically and decided together that Breanna should live with Nia and Daniel because it is the best for her. They already have a closer relationship with each other. He gave up his Parental Rights so that Daniel and Nia could adopt her, he is still in contact with Breanna, but still, as it was before like an estranged relative who comes to visit from Time to Time. He still cares for Breanna, but he wants what's best for her and they both think Nia and Daniel are the best for her. And Breanna loves her new home because she is a big Fan of the Carter Sisters.

Okay so like...i LOVE tragic backstories and I came up with one for Brianna!
Born to a troubled young couple,Brianna had a tough start in life. Her mother was very mentally unwell and turned to Drugs and Religion to fight her demons. Her father was absent,working on fishing and cargo ships,taking what work he could find. Well as Brianna got older,her mothers mental state got worse and worse,often she would be convinced that the government was going to take her and control her mind. In one of her delusions she was covinced that her daughter was an Alien sent by the government to spy on her. However despite her illness there were peices of a mothers love in her fractured mind so she brought Brianna to the police,telling them she was an Alien that replaced her real baby. The police had Briannas mother taken to hospital where she would be given the mental help she needed. And Brianna was put into foster care until her father could come home. However a freak storm happened off the coast and his ship went down. No survivors were ever found. With her mother unfit and no father,Brianna was put up for adoption. Now in her new home,Brianna is having to adjust to being completely safe for the first time in her young life. It isnt easy,as she expects to be locked out the house or deprived food or screamed at for every little thing. It will take time for her to fully connect with her new family,and to be at ease, but now she has hope. She hopes to grow up to be a doctor so she can learn how to help people like her birth mother.
I love the Nia and Daniel story, so well done for their scenes. If you ever want to do Shorts, which I sorta have a love/hate relationship with myself, lol, maybe you could put the Sims' mini machinimas into one, and link to your longer vids to attract viewers or at least get some watches for the Short? You put so much work into them, they deserve all the attention, I think.
I'm sure you mentioned Brianna's Traits/Aspiration, but I just missed it? The Traits won't be changed, correct? You upload close to my bedtime, but I would love a chance to do a back story. I do suppose you need the story you pick so you have time to put it in the next vid, so I guess it can't be helped. Maybe if there is another video in between this build, I will go for it. I'll just keep watching and see, which won't be hard, haha. It would help to know the Traits/Aspiration, I think, so they would fit the story.
Edit: I think I will just make a back story that would hopefully work for one or more of the upcoming adoptees...
Their parents (let's call them Elliot and Abby Spencer) were in the Secret Agent Career, working for the government as spies. They had normal appearing jobs, but were really under cover. They lived in the same building as Nia and Daniel, and came to be friends of theirs. Nia and Daniel were not aware of their real identities, and indeed thought they just were away on business a lot. Since they loved children so much, Elliot and Abby's' child or children spent a lot of time with Nia and Daniel while their parents were away. They thought of Nia and Daniel as second parents. But one day Elliot and Abby did not return. They are now missing! What has happened to Elliot and Abby? Will they ever return? Will Nia and Daniel foster and eventually adopt the child or children? How will the child or children cope? Stay tuned!
Breanna is the little sister of one of Daniel’s old students. After her parents died in a tragic accident, her older brother struggled to take care of her and balance his own life.
As a result, Daniel and Nia chose to adopted Breanna to take the stress load off of her brother. He of course is still part of her life, but he isn’t responsible for her either!
I think a house with this many family members, even with a housekeeper, would be crying out for a dishwasher
21:32 the for rent pack is causing corruption once you go pass the 6 rental lot threshold. I think that’s wild since they said you could go past that amount.
The corruption bug has also happened to some people who never had more than 6 units on a lot. The causes are actually pretty unclear. It happened to me, so I'm a regular reader on the official bug report thread.
Their son Dieon has found himself! Deions coming out! And he wants the world to know, showing Pride in who he is. Will the World embrace him with open arms?
I think a good storyline for Brianna would be that she came from a teen pregnancy and the mother put her up for adoption but who adopted her was abusive. Feel like the mayor adopted her and saved her from her adoptive parents.

I wonder if the adopted children might like an adopted pet? It could be something that they do to unify the family once they feel complete and settled. They all go as a family to the local animal shelter and adopt the dog / cat that just, *fits* You know?
