I didn't like Yunjins opera cuz it sounded like something was missing and I looked up more traditional chinese peking operas and it seems like background music was the one missing in yunjins entrance.
I’m Mexican and just found out about this, looks amazing, simple art and amazing singing, can’t imagine how hard it is to be a Chinese opera singer, I’m glad to be able to know about other cultures. ^^
This is an art of it's own. It is a perfect combination between dace, singing, music, storytelling, acting, and maybe poetry (I suppose it has poetry.)
Yes. It uses poetic language. As a Cantonese myself, I often cannot fully understand the dialogue in Cantonese Opera because the pronunciation is often different from our daily ones. 🤣 Also, you will find classic terms rarely used in modern times. For example, Frozen Wheel (冰轮) actually means the Moon.
I'm also here because of Yun Jin, but I don't regret it. I was never a fan of opera in general, but wow, Chinese opera is really beautiful and their voices are stunning! I'm so thankful for mhy to have added Yun Jin's singing, otherwise I couldn't enjoy these masterpieces now

As pure Chinese , I'm so glad that genshin impact adds about Chinese opera and seeing people come to learn about Chinese Culture and art really make me happy . If my grandparents and mom are still alive , they will be so proud that people start to take interest on Opera😭💕💖✨
At first when i heard yun jins opera, i though it sounds weird, because it wasn't the singing I would hear every day, but When I started listening to the Chinese opera, I love it! Chinese opera is simply something different for my ear, for a month now the Chinese opera has put me to sleep, I turn it on and calmly fall asleep. That singing that's in the Chinese opera, makeup and all those dances! Wow, when I heard a Chinese opere for the first time I was in a positive shock, but when I saw makeup and dancing I just started admire it🥰🥰💓💗💖
In fact there're several languages: Beijing Mandarin, Henanese Mandarin (Henan dialect) , "Opera Mandarin" (a language only for operas, similar to mandarin), cantonese and suzhounese (similar to Shanghainese)
@@abcdrussell1245 I disagree. In singing, I think Cantonese sounds less harsh than Mandarin. I don’t really know how to explain it, but I think Mandarin tends to sound a bit more squeaky if that makes sense. To take a non operatic example, in Mulan’s Reflection the Cantonese lyrics are “Seoi zung neoi zi gan ngo, min deoi min, ngo fei ngo” which would translate to “Shui zhong nvzi kan wo, mian dui mian, wo fei wo”. I feel the Cantonese version sounds more pleasant and less harsh, but that’s just my opinion.
The amount of control these singers have is amazing, it takes quite alot to move notes at high speeds, and dancing at the same time, pure talent and control
