This genius composed around 40 grand operas, 32 operettas, 16 full-scale symphonies, 19 beautiful string quartets, around 200 songs, 45 duets, 3 oratorios, 28 cantatas. And of course he also wrote chamber music. But it is difficult to find Donizetti's orchestral music or his piano pieces however, since he has been almost exclusively known for his brilliant opera works. Beautiful video excerpt of Donizetti's life by the way. Very concise and accurate.
