Back in the 70's when this old fella was teaching me to plank skiff bottoms in Norfolk he would insist that i use two hacksaw blades as spacers between planks before i nailed them off and trim them. Then when everything was done we would drag it down to the beach and soak it for a couple days then drag it back and turn it over to dry it out then paint it.
