Yeah, right? It's crazy that, as a species, we've been around for 6 million years, and we only started taking mental health seriously about 40 years ago. Before that, people would either carve a hole in your head to release "negative spirits" or give you a lobotomy.

watching these videos, really makes me realise just how insane the US research and medical fields became after WW2, going as far as luring their own citizens to these extremely dangerous, borderline torturous procedures just so they could experiment with the results. what baffles me even more is the population of the day not even batting an eye at what was going on, not questioning any of these methods.
How could they question them when they didint know better?

The crazy part is most lobotomies weren’t actually “successful” in the sense that the brain didn’t even sever in the right spot/they didn’t do what they were meant to, yet doctors still decided to keep doing them
I came across Angelica by chance and she is being far one of the best content creators I have ever seen. She is by far my favorite. Lobotomy was actually an insane mental surgery for patients who dealt with trauma.But in the meantime,John F. Kennedy's little sister Rosemary did go into an Lobotomy procedure.Sadly,she was mentally stable even though she didn't need it.After the procces,her brain was stuck as a toddler's one,and she ended up being more mentally unstable than she was.
NOTE : Her mother was against it,but when she wasn't around Rosemary's father's presence,he did it anyway.She always blamed him after that incident.
