It is very common for IT employees to start a consultancy business in Canada. They want a piece of pie in the salary of the candidates that they place . When ever these IT employees with consultancy have a position in their company they place their own candidates. Priority is given to their own candidates rather than most eligible candidate due to the commission they get. These consultants help you fake experience if needed , help by having proxy interviews, etc, wherever possible . 90% of these kind of IT employee + consultants fake ( not exaggerate) the candidates' experience at some point. I have been here for over 20 years and know this full well. Disclaimer I am not an IT employee or own a consultancy. I do have insight into how this works full well.
I never told what kind of consultancy we are running and don’t want to justify it with an anonymous person “no handlename”
About the process you said, such things happening in IT industry in many countries which is kind of an open secret. Everybody in IT knows it.
Being a non IT person, you know sooo many things about this process that too in very detail, that’s interesting.
And me being an IT employee, I want to help you clarifying one point from your comment, I don’t think none of us alone have authority to recruit a person in our company. HR team, leads, managers, cost centres, other colleagues….. so many people are involved and it’s not a single persons decision.
But if you know anybody with so much of authority to do recruitment of their liked ones, into their company, all by himself. Please do congratulate them, they might have achieved a loott to be in that position.
