Very nice work sir. I've got several sets of pistol grips that an old Navy buddy made for me in the 60's, but he's been dead for years. I might like to try this out for myself. Thanks for the tutorial.
awesome work, I'm thinking of trying it, did you get training in scrim or before trying on ivory, I've ordered a book on it and hoping its informative enough, that tapping noise when in FF sounds like you are poking quite hard, is that how hard you go in on the dark stuff or just in general? Thanks mate
No training. You apply more force for darker areas. I recommend to start out with very light force and gradually increase it if you need darker shades. Good luck! Thanks for the comment.

Nice work friend, I have done scrimshaw using a needle manually the old style too much work. I would like to know where to get same scriber you use makes life easier.
Man , i love your work! Continue with this!
awesome keep doing videos like this :)
Stunning. The timelapse really makes the retouching for darker coloring obvious. What do you use for ink/paint?
it's called India ink. Thank you!

What is the name of the tool that you use?
It is called a scriber.
Thank you so much!
how long did that actually take you to do? it's gorgeous but seems like it would be rather frustrating after a while.
It is kind of time consuming and frustrating at times if mistakes are made. This one took about 4-5 hours.
amazing. can anyone tell me would this wear off with use of knife
The ink may wear off from heavy usage but can be re-inked if needed. Thanks!
+KnifeJigs I wonder could you put a laquer layer over it or something
Yes you could seal it.
Subcribe👍👍 saya baru belakar dan membeli beberapa alat oh ya tinta apa yang anda gunakan
I used India ink.
@@mulanjamilah7849 I don't know about tattoo ink. You can get the India ink on ebay. Dr.Ph.Martin's or Higgins are good.
