Finally watched the rest of this, some interesting sales here. You know, I have never sold a radar detector - I need to start looking closer, there's no doubt I've passed by a ton of them. I've sold 3 of those Bose receivers in the past and for 2 of them I bought the power supply. I think it was like 30 bucks or so, but the extra money I got was worth it. With the physical condition of your unit, I understand not wanting to put more money in.
