I think there is a more basic question. Is money available at 62 more valuable or more useful to you than money at 80? At 62 you are far more likely to enjoy a trip more or enjoy a nice restaurant meal than when you are 80. At 80 you are much more likely to be more frail and less willing to go out and enjoy life compared to 62. I intend to retire at 64 and will start SS the month after I retire.

Within goals and objectives, spousal and survivor benefits have to be considered.

Why the big rush to begin collecting Federal welfare at 62? Have you looked at your statement? You will receive much more if you wait until you are 70.

Then you die at 70 and get nothing vs getting something at 62..

Remember SS will be adjusted for inflation. Hard to argue with that benefit. (Assuming our lovely government does't change that).

The SS money is to live off of not for investing, kinda doesn’t make sense.

Good stuff Troy. If full retirement at 66 and 10 months is $550.00 per month more than the payout at 62, what percentage yield over the 58 months do I need to win taking it early? Assume I invest the entire check each month. My break even age is roughly 78-79

I never heard the break even part. 😢

Why all the videos about when to collect Federal welfare? Look at your statement. It is obvious that 70 is the best age to begin collecting your monthly check.

Too late for investing, good video though.

Wait until you are 70 to collect. Don''t believe me, look at your statement.

I pray that you live up to 70, God's grace.

For me, 3 more years and I am done, will be 62, cannot wait to collect.
