  • This is a walk through on how to become a pro MMA fighter or UFC, kickboxer, Muay Thai, or in Boxing. I talk about money, work ethic, what to look for in a gym, how to train, how your mindset should be, the proper steps, and much more. Watch this video with a pen and paper, and take notes! Hopefully I'll be watching you on T.V. someday!

    I have the same situation mate, no where near to train. I suggest you get a job for a while, and train your strength and cardio at home, runs push ups chin ups, bag work etc. When you save up some money, find somewhere near the gym to stay and train solidly for a while. I am not a fighter but this is what I did.

    I started missing around about 3 years ago with just boxing and stuff with friends I'm undefeated in school but I want to compete against trained fighters. I'm about 6 foot and I can fight in light - welt. You do get respect and stuff but I want to take the next step and find a real spot to help me. I live in Alabama and the closest places (MMA) is like a 3 hour drive away from me.I'm 18 so just train at home the best I can. I'm stuck what should I do? I wanna persue this dream!

  • @hotbassist182
    @hotbassist182 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MMAbadassbrett
    3rd- Be involved in the community that you are competing in (MMA, Boxing, Kick Boxing, Muay thai, Grappling tournanments, etc) and get the fans to love you. Ticket sales means bigger fights, and allows you to negotiate more pay for your fights.

  • @Conflakes
    @Conflakes 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    honestly man just being classed as an mma fighter doesn't make you any weaker, my advice is to get in boxing for abit,then muay thai,then some sort of ground game, because then you would technically be an overall good fighter. go to the gym and swim and run along with this, and your set.

    Find a gym that has a team to train first and for most. They will help push you when preparing for a fight, but don't just join any gym. Go to the more well known gyms that produce really good local fighters if not famous ones that actually compete so you can get what a good training regime consist of.

    What age do we get paid? How do we get the money, is it our manager who helps?

  • @hotbassist182
    @hotbassist182 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MMAbadassbrett
    Second- If you don't have one, get a manager and one that you know has the best intentions for you. Promoters deal with fighter's but you won't make as much or be taken as serious if you don't have a manager or at least making the good money... it was my biggest mistake trying be my own manager in my career.

    @fighttipsvideos what do you think of mma my kru talks bout how they have horrible striking and that they are just tough street fighters, i see this sort of true considering i've watched my fair share of ufc and wec, and in term of a street fight situation what do you think is better muay thai or mma mma has ground fighting but lacks in speciliaztion in striking or ground fighting so you might not be good enough to slip or ocunter back punches

  • @GODTHESOOTHSAYER1
    @GODTHESOOTHSAYER1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The most important thing to have is a "big heart" and the "ability to take a punch!" Training and Talent is all well and good, but when you GET HIT, your game plan goes right out the back door!

    My amatuer thai fight was wierd, Then again I live in buffalo new work which is a fight city we hold the ny state golden gloves here.Anyways I had head gear and gloves but no chest protector,and was able to throw head kicks well me not my opponent. Still lost cause it took a wile to get out clinch,even tho i blocked all his knees and my stand up dominated his from experience from boxing,and I had far better kicks. My leg was messed up btw I could only throw 3 head kick attempts still it went bad

    7:05, you tell us to find a trainer who neither rushes us into fights nor holds us back. If I start boxing for my first time, lets say today, about how long should it take before I get my first fight? (on average. Because I am guessing it depends how well the person progresses too?)

    • @rosshutchison1146
      @rosshutchison1146 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      conman parker some people can fight within months and some within years. A lot of trainers don't even want you to fight for 12-18 months but it's more when you're confident that you're ready. Never have your first fight if you're not 100% sure you're ready, the last thing you want is a loss on your first fight.

      @@Wickedman5000 Age definitely plays a factor but some fighters started training "late" and still find success.

    How about a 2019 version of this?

      +Druvi Neuleshya You need to learn jiu jitsu. Powerlifting will make you more marketable should you start winning fights. Muay Thai is awesome for MMA.

      yes the best thing to do us start a amateur career in boxing, muay thai, or kickboxing for a couple of years. once you have experience with actual amateur fights then when your ready find a mma gym. you will already have had fighting experience so your standup striking will come natural. if you find a good mma gym it will cost like the guy said around $200 a month. here in England it's £100 so about the same. there they will usually have classes everyday and your membership will cover that and enable you to attend classes. you want to forget about fighting at this point until you learn jujitsu and wrestling and get your ground game to a decent level. they will do boxing and muay thai aswell to brush up on your skills. then when your confident get into amateur fights, until you are good enough to turn pro. so forget kung fu in my opinion, develop a base in boxing or kickboxing first. a lot of mma guys lack stand up ability so yiur striking will be the first thing you want to develop. ju jitsu and wrestling that they will teach in mma gyms in my opinion as long as you listen and keep asking questions is easier to learn, actual boxing in proper fights is tougher and is one of those things you need to spend years on. decide what sort of fighter you want to be, if you like stand up strikers stick to boxing first then develop your wrestling and jujitsu when u join mma as you will pick that up. but ground game is a must, there is loads of mma guys that can't fight standing but can wrestle so are successful but you have to be 1 hell of a wrestler. the stand up knockout fighters are more rare so if you can fight standing before you join mma you are half there and also you will have the experience of getting hit. almost all mma fighters start if with a base I.e wrestling in high school, boxing, etc so you must develop 1 of these. I would suggest muay thai or kick boxing. good luck.

      +Druvi Neuleshya your welcome and if you think kung fu will help you in your career then keep it up. and if you already have competed in kickboxing that's a good advantage. so find a mma gym when you can. check it's a good gym and ask if they have pro fighters and check out the pros records on the Internet. good luck.
