In Italy, I pronounce my name the Italian way. (mau-RRREE-lo) When I'm in the US, I pronounce it the American way. (muh-RILL-lo) It saves a lot of confusion. BTW, when I'm in Italy, they tell me that my name is Spanish. It probably is, but I have almost no Spanish genes, so who knows where it came from?
