I was accused of being racist, because I adopted a black baby daughter (from New Orleans, the year before Katrina - I'm from Canada). When I was down to adopt, and a couple years later to finalize the adoption, I saw absolutely no sign of racism. I interacted with many blacks and whites in New Orleans, with my daughter, and there was no indication that there was an issue. If there's nothing I can do about my "white privilege," I think it's time I should celebrate it.
Most people can define a woman just fine. Especially if you mean biologically. But the gender issue is somewhat different. I don't see it as a biological issue - more of a freedom issue. We may think some of the gender ideas are silly, but so what? People have a right to be silly. I see no reason to get uptight about it.
