      It’s a titanium bar with bevels. Sort of stupid, something anyone with a angle grinder or bench grinder could make. $70 isn’t too bad though, as long as it’s 6al4v ti and not some weaker alloy.

      It's a slab of gray coated titanium with some holes and 5 bevels. It's about as basic as you can get with machining. Any HS student who can use a manual mill can make one.

    I've had their previous model (High Carbon Steel) for almost 10 years, it has established a nice patina and works great. I have used it as a scraper, chisel, wedge and you name it. sharpened the bevels down to get a nice edge. just used it at Fort Drum to wedge up 800lb RF cabinets durring installation of a communication system. love these tools.

    • @lastbesttool

      I was looking for a titanium pry bar. I think I was googling titanium tools and stumbled on this company, then went to Amazon, then to their storefront. After enough oddball searches the Amazon AI bots get creative at showing me interesting things. I also watch many videos about EDC products and then chase down brands I've not heard of. That's how this whole thing works. Customers need to hear about products, and products need visibility to get in front of the customer.

      @@lastbesttool for sure! You’ll be impressed by the quality and design. He also uses great materials. The pry bar part is nice and thin and the bottle opener works unbelievably well 😂
      Mine is also in Z-Wear steel which is super tough. Mine is also the double bit variant of which holds a double ended screwdriver bit.

    there's no need to cut handles off snap on stuff, mount it in a vice in a piece of scrap soft metal and whack it off (haha) with a soft hammer. I often swap handles of old screwdrivers onto ratchets as I prefer the form factor, i feel the slightly larger handle of a no1 Phillips is nicer than that given on a 3/8 and no2 Phillips is nicer for a 1/2. thanks doc

    I can see the utility in this design, but it's not something I'd ever buy for a couple reasons.
    One reason being that I'm just not remotely interested in titanium, and the other being that it's just way too big for me to EDC.
    To me Every Day Carry means the things you " Carry " on your person, not the things you keep in a backpack or in your vehicle because you leave your vehicle and a backpack gets set down / stowed.
    I gotta have very small items that fit in my little YBO pico pocket organizer, small so total package is relatively small in my front pocket.

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What drew me to this is its light weight yet useful size. I have many smaller pry bars, but this one would easily ride in side of bottom of a small bag like my Nutsac Tacsac 13 (stay tuned). Basically, I want EDC options and pryers have a obvious point of diminishing return.

      I get that bigger tools are more capable, they just don't fit the EDC bill for me.
      Larger stuff like this is kept in the small sling pack I take to work, but I don't consider that EDC since it's not carried on my person and certainly not at all on my days off.
