ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

Juliette had such a sweet unique voice I could listen to her for hours
Loved how they came in so tenderly. Jules has such a ring to her vocal while Kris works the lows and highs. Such good voices and energetic stage presence. Hard choice.
Gosh idk why…. But I love Reba. She radiates genuine energy.

So, not gonna lie, the moment Kristen opened her mouth I knew she was the winner. Her sweet yet strong tone at the time is so remarkable. For Juliette, she did great, but in several parts, I think she strained her voice a lot, something that did not allow me to appreciate her voice.
Yes, same! Kristen’s handle on this song was on another level.
I think Niall gives such great feedback - and brings humor. Great season of judges! Appreciate this show! 😊

I feel like this song was so different from both of their blinds, and they both took it in different ways. Still sounded amazing to the ears, Juliette's note was crazy cool but Kristen's melodious approach was what won my heart in the end.
To everyone saying there’s something lacking in the performance: you can tell BOTH of them are sooo nervous (they still sounded beautiful!!). It was very clear that their minds were focused so much on trying to not lose control or let their nerves get in the way, which steals away from their ability to focus on connecting to each other and really performing. I feel for both of them. Nervousness can make you sound completely different when you perform. Knowing you’re competing with someone else is so scary😭 I think Jules was the most nervous. So sad she couldn’t continue because I loved that she was a bilingual artist:,( I hope someone scoops her up! This was a great opportunity for her to get out there!
Or, it coulda been that neither one of 'em, was feelin' it---which is what I think it was---because it was a bad song choice. Kristen sang Country in the blinds; I feel she should stick with that, cuz that's where her heart, is.
I don't understand coaches, switchin' people, up---Reba did it to Mac, and messed him, up, too!! This is not "American Idol", where they have to be able to sing everything--one can stay in their lane, here, and win!!
AFAIK, Blake never gave a Country singer, a Pop song---and Blake has won a bazillion times; Gwen, once; there might be something to be said, for that.
There's so much pitchy moments here and there.

I agreed with Legend. Kristen sounded very beautiful, and I think her tone just match for the song, especially in the beginning to the midle song. But Juliette, she just killed the chorus part. Their sounds just completed each other for the song. ❤

That riff Kristen did at the end was unreal omg😍
I thought Kristen started strong and clean but Juliette really brought it in the latter half as she settled her nerves.
What's sad is the tempo from the band controlled them, versus them staying on top of it and taking control. It made this duet a bit messy but they tried their best.

I couldn’t help, but think of how easily Celine Dion sings this song. These two struggled.
I think most of us would struggle, no matter if we were solo or with someone else like they were.
It's a very hard song, and most people just don't have what Celine Dion has. i'm not knocking them in any way--they're both very good, and both unique. I just wish they hadn't been so nervous.

This is maybe my favorite Céline Dion song, but this performance suffered from the tempo being so slow, the messiness of arranging it for two singers trading off turns, and the fact that neither of them have her range and vocal command. None of this was necessarily their fault. Glad to see the coaches were kind!
And they were singing behind the music for most of the song. It was hard to listen to.
The & Juliet version of this song also slowed it down, but did that concept much better - there were less instrumentals, so it was able to focus on the vocals and the lyrics...
I wonder what was up with the tempo? They were slightly off--slow, before the song. This is the only time I've noticed that on the show.
Arranging it can't have been easy, and I think they did really well considering. It's one of my favorite Celine Dion songs :)

I’m so upset Juliette is gone but I’m also happy Kristen stayed😫😫Kristen really does just have this enchanting tone and Juliette has such a clarity and piercing-ness to her voice. I’m really surprised she didn’t get stolen.

This is one of my favorite songs to listen to, it’s got a great uplifting message to listen to! I actually thought Juliette was better than Kristen in that song but Kristen did a great job too!

Yes I miss the critiques. Tell them what they did wrong. I remember I liked American Idol because the judges weren't all bologna and actually said they were not good. But the voice is always focuses on just making them feel okay when they didn't do well to be honest. I hate when they say you were so great when in truth it sucked lol

I really wish I could see a reality show in which people who sing nothing (the worst ones at singing) become great singers. The Voice is so cool, but most of the people who perform there already know the basics.
I felt they were a little behind on timing honestly Juliette did really good though and so did Kristen but I heard a lot of pitch issues as well I loved both of their outfits

It's pretty ironic that a singer called Juliette disappointed whilst trying to put her own spin on a song that received a fantastic cover in a musical called & Juliet. The & Juliet version did the "slowing down" properly - it adopted a minimalistic, near-acoustic arrangement that allowed the vocals and lyrics to be the main focus...

I think this was a mismatch of song and artists together. Kristen had a bit more control so I think Gwen made the right choice. But if you sing Celine you better slay and I think this could have been better

For me, Celine Dion is like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, you have to be a certain caliber of vocalist to even consider touching their songs because they are so good that even a great singer can look terrible when put next to them. These two have beautiful tones but they weren't really up for this song in this instance. Not to say that both of them may not one day be able to really train and gain enough control to perform this beautifully, it just wasn't today.
