Why did they suddenly got complete emotional control? Aren't Vulcans supposed to train for years before they get repressed emotions? Feels like the show is mixing being of a certain species and of a certain culture. :/ Which is what reaaally grind my gears. It was a bit cheesy but I like it. I have tolerance for that in Trek.

Good point. Vulcans have strong emotions that they learn to suppress. They should have included a quick scene where the doctor inject them with something to block their emotional state of mind. Space xanax? Without emotional control they're basically Romulans.
I love Pike because he is like a mix of Kirk and Picard. I liked them individually, but I never loved them because they both had their shortcomings. Pike feels like a great blend of the two and I believe he would be the superior captain.
it was too much like the reboot star trek series with the outfits, but I think their human was showing a bit over the Vulcan, it's like they put too much bones into them, over Spock's, bones used to say stuff in TOS all the time at Spock, but no other crew member for the most part did that, some reason bones , always had a way of not liking anything Spock said if I recall the original series correctly, and not the movies. so far its been mixed like cartoon cross over episode and musical episode been the worst of it in season 2, otherwise; I liked the new series.
What a terrible gimmick! With only 10 episodes per season, this show needs to stop screwing around and pick a genre. Yep, female co-host in this vid nailed it! Such a cringe worthy trailer. I'm furious with the writers floundering around in the dark seeking a way to be Star Trek, but I love the cast so I hope the writers manage to do it. For now, they're just exploiting the Star Trek name. What a bunch of losers...!

Completely agree with you - he has the charisma of Picard but the humanity and fallibility of Kirk! I'm sure nothing bad will happen to him... gulp...
