Hi, let me get this straight, you showered before ten days with the waterproof bandage and ziplock bag ? I’d love to have a shower now as I’m 4 days after surgery…
Hahaha. Yes. It's not recommended but I did it. The first time I followed things more to a T. The second time, I understood why they wanted things a certain way and ensured I stayed along those guidelines but "bent the rules".
I had inguinal open surgery 2 weeks ago and didn't really have much pain. I took ibuprofen and Tylenol instead of the opioid pain meds. I also iced very frequently and that took away my swelling and any discomfort. Hoping I'll be able to go back to work soon, but i think I'll have to wait a couple weeks since my job is physically demanding.
If you can, you can try mimicking your work for a few minutes and see how it feels. If you're ok, gradually lengthen the time spent doing it. Ideally if you can even work for an hour or so, then half days before you go back full time just to ease into it more.
Oh I'm sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience with your gallbladder. I've had other surgery before and I can just say that it was a different experience. Luckily I could compartmentalize.
I'm 7 weeks into recovery from bilateral laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery. First 3 weeks were tough, developed nerve pain which was debilitating but that's gone now. I have a few residual aches and pains but I'd say I'm 90% back to full mobility. My surgeon recommended I don't return to HIIT-style exercises for at least another 2 months.
@@DEFYfitness my right side still sore I'm able to walk around but not as much pain. It bothers me more in the morning but I think it's because um jus getting up and stiff

@@DEFYfitness yeah I'll try that. Thanks for the idea.
@curtisharms3172 let me know how it goes!
@@DEFYfitness I will do that
when can you shave again. i would imagine if you place a bandage down there it would hurt pulling it off
To be honest, I’m not sure. I’d probably recommend trimming rather than shaving for a few weeks.
I have a very small umbilical one and I'm terrified of surgery after I had a horrible experience getting my gallbladder taken out last year :')
