Jeeragam is an ingredient of poricha kootu or more kuzhambhu where it is grinded raw and never fried in oil . Jeeragam is fried in oil only for north Indian sabzis. This may be regional. Thanks.
Both r different. In tanjore side we grind coconut , fried kadalaparuppu, dhania , red chilly n vendhayam. For rasavangi we use kathrikai or senaikizhangu or vazhaikai. And fr grinding we use roasted coconut, kadalaparuppu, redchilly. And we season it with kadugu ,perungayam And uluthamparuppu. If we have ulundhu vathal we add that too.
