Yes, WAR PIGS was an anti-war song written in the 60s-70s about Vietnam. Vietnam was a war, although the politicians and UN labeled it a "conflict" because Vietnam was NEVER declared a war. Same as the Korean War was labeled a "police action" by the UN. The Vietnam War was run from the comfort of the White House. None of the generals did anything on the ground that wasn't ordered by the politicians in the White House. Whenever the generals on the ground in Vietnam wanted to make a move, they had to call the White House to see if they were allowed to make that decision.
TV News anchor Walter Kronkite basically told the American public that we lost the Vietnam war and between that and the college kids (who went to college to escape being drafted into the military) would protest the soldiers coming home. They would do protest rallies at the airports and protest the returning soldiers by spitting at them, throwing urine and other stuff on them. An uncle of mine drove a supply truck in Vietnam (to this day he won't talk about his experience). A family friend of ours said that he and his buddies came home, saw the protesters at the airport, and re-enlisted because it was safer in Vietnam than in the US with the protesters. At least in Vietnam, they knew who the enemy was. I'm NOT saying Vietnam was anything the US should have ever been in. I'm just relating stories of people I know who served there.
Zakk Wylde (who plays guitar for Ozzy on and off for years now) was fan of Black Sabbath as a teenager and he was a fan of Randy Rhoads's guitar playing before he sent in an audition tape to Ozzy who (some time after Randy died) was looking for a new guitarist. Zakk was 17 when he sent that audition tape in. When Zakk plays a Randy Rhoads riff, he finds a way to play it that honors Randy's memory while still remaining true to himself and his own style.
Zakk Wylde has a Black Sabbath tribute band called Zakk Sabbath (Ozzy and Sharon are like surrogate parents to Zakk. Personally, I think Ozzy treats Zakk like a son and Zakk calls Sharon "mom".) To Zakk, Ozzy is his boss, but Ozzy taught him how to handle a full-scale tour, so he runs Black Label Society and Zakk Sabbath as he's seen Ozzy and Sharon run their tours. There's a Black Label Society behind-the-scenes video of Zakk at a BLS gig and he's got the song list up on the wall. The promoters wanted him to cut the song list down. He refused to do it, because Ozzy would never cut the song list down and the promoters would never think to ask that of Ozzy, so why should Zakk do it. I think the most he did was either cut a solo short or remove it entirely.

Sabbath is a worthwhile rabbit hole that you should explore at depth. I trust in Gawd and the first six Black Sabbath albums. Everyone else pays in cash...

The epitome of psychedelic war protest songs. Listen to "Renegade" by Steppenwolf. They did Magic Carpet Ride and Born to be wild... All three would be great for you but Renegade would be perfect.

Wicked reaction! You gotta follow this up by watching the live version from 1970, seeing is believing, especially Bill Ward on the drums 😮🎉
