"Treble crochet" means 2 different things, depending upon the part of the world you are from. There are "American" crochet terms, in which "treble crochet" means what I show in the video. Then there are "UK/British" crochet terms, in which a "treble crochet" looks like an American "double crochet." Gets confusing sometimes :)

Depending upon what you have access to, maybe something sport weight or DK weight would be a better choice for a bathing suit wrap. Like Lion Brand Mandala perhaps. That is an acrylic yarn. Or if you have access to a Michaels, some kind of DK weight cotton would also be good, like Premiere's Cotton Fair.
naztazia Yes ma'am you are correct it took about that. I love how it came out. I used a very very soft fuzzy yarn so it came out so soft and warm for me. I unfortunately couldn't find the ombré but I was happy with the yarn I used. Thanks again. Love your channel.

The yarn she is using is a worsted weight (4) acrylic yarn. Acrylic yarn is great for a strong and sturdy shawl that still maintains softness. To make the shawl softer, wash it and dry it on a delicate setting and the yarn should get softer. If you're looking for a warmer shawl, you could use a wool or wool-blend yarn. Just make sure it is the same weight as the yarn she is using in the video, which is a worsted weight (4) yarn. I hope this helps!
