Really nostalgic looking at this - the airlines that are now either defunct or don’t fly into city. Likewise the wider range of airframes than these days. Thanks for this walk down memory lane
Ohh, and yes this is finally under an hour long, so I hope you enjoy this video. I will be cutting down in video production over the next month or so, but do have a few things coming. So stay tuned :)
Northwest used to fly them out of grand forks, ND to Minneapolis back around 2000, i loved it. Who would want to see the C17 land at London City, it is capable of it, not sure how much weight the runway can hold, though. Look up “c17 wrong airport” that runway is shorter than London City. It can do the steep approach and takeoff too.
This is THE BEST aircraft watch video channel I've ever seen, and I've seen plenty. Congratulations to all involved. from a real world pilot in Melbourne VIC Australia 20th Jan 2021.ps l've flown out of LCY as a px many times.
Fantastic video from LCY, Casey! Very interesting spotting point... Like all the Embraer´s, Dash´s and, and, and... Nice to see the SWISS - Bombardier CS 100 Series. HB-JBA " Kanton Zürich " was the first SWISS - CS100 and operated since 07/2016. HB-JBB " Kanton Genf " was the next SWISS - CS100 and operated since 08/2016. BIG Like from me! Very good job, Casey! Greets from Germany ;-)
The Swiss CS100s are my favorite too. The nacelles are so ginormous compared to the Embraer 170/190s. I also like the angle of the winglets versus the Embraers also.
What a brilliant idea it was to build that. Definitely one of the best ideas to come out of Mrs. Thatcher's government. Some interesting destinations; a lot of traffic to France, Rennes, Quimper and Toulon? I suppose there must be enough busienss traffic from those places to make it worthwhile.
TANAY.NICE VEDEO BUT I EXPECT I FIND THIS SPOTTING SOME OF FEW BIG PLANES LIKE BOEING 777.200 OR 300 BOEING 747.400 AIRBUS A 330.200 BUT THIS FOTAGE I ONLY FIND MEDEUM SIZE JETS AND FEW ATR THATS ALSO GOOD I ENJOY I LIKE IT NO DOUBT I LIKE BRITISH AIRWAYS .SWISS AIR AND LAST TAKEOFF ITS AWESOME.
Thanks for asking this question! We used the info in Casey’s reply today to take our toddler to watch the planes for his birthday & he absolutely loved it! :) Hope you’ve made it there since asking & enjoyed it if so :)
When I stay on Sunborn the best times seem to be before 9 am and after 5 and one of the best places is in front of the rowing club on the other side of the dock to the runway at the present time the airport is being made larger by including a taxiway.
Casey Planespotting Ha Ha Casey well you have cracked it lol I'm still trying to find the right shutter speed to get prop blur will try to fathom it out during the winter unlikely I will upload anymore videos till next year anyway.
Hi. What type of lens would one need to shoot similar scene from this distance? I’m trying to take a similar shot for a personal video and Ofcourse, my go pro isn’t cutting it. :)). Appreciate your opinion...
The reason why I searched this video was because I was in Waterloo in London U.K. and a plane over me very close to me and it was Singapore airlines A380 after that was a Emirates A380 just right above me I was like "no way a Emirates and Singapore airlines A380 take off from London city airport . Heathrow airport was miles away it would of been 10,000ft in the air can you guys tell me what airport it could be.
Great video. I like the location of where you take the video, due to it’s location prior to where the aircrafts take off or land. Question: What is the speed necessary for rotation on takeoff? Richard Whitenight Arlington, Texas
This airport is full of fantastic planes to watch! I will be banning planes that don't fly to or from this airport such as the 737 MAX! CS 100 is only plane that is good.
Anyone else eating this while watching a curry?
Yes a chiken balti
I wish. I am eating Spanish rice.
SOUTHEND AVIATION LOL I'm eating Chips' Ahoy! XD
Pasta

Casey Planespotting nice vid went to Gatwick last month
Excellent! Man, the people living and working around there have a, pun intended, bird’s eye view of planes taking off and landing! 😎🛫✈️🛬
Does anyone else think that the Cityjet planes look like a mini version of the C-17 Globemaster?
Hahahaha, or in other words the C17 is the fat version of the 146 😃
Thanks for replying Casey
I love the Rj85s they are awesome and sound fantastic!
Dillon Meredith: That's what makes the 146 one of a kind, a design common to military transports.

CS100 my favourite .... gorgeous aircraft!
i love how they make noise while on the ground as soon as they lift off they make a completely different sound
Fantastic video from LCY, Casey!

Wow the quality of your filming is stunning good job
Thank you 😎
Well done Embraer for sticking to a sector which the big boys gave up on too quickly 👍
This is the first time I am watching a planespotting vid without eating at a restaurant!
Hahaha 😎
Oop, never mind. I continued watching this video while eating breakfast at McDonald's on the last day of summer. 🍳🌯🍔
I definitely have to go down here to see this awesome traffic.
Very nice video Casey. Always great at City airport for thr views and a nice selection of regional jets. I liked the Swiss CS100s too
Thanks David, glad you enjoyed this video 😃

CS100 best looking aircraft by far. Time for BA / LH to ditch those awful Embraers !!!
2:15 that embraer took off so quickly
Did you notice the feather soft touchdown of the Swiss Air 220 ?
What a brilliant idea it was to build that. Definitely one of the best ideas to come out of Mrs. Thatcher's government. Some interesting destinations; a lot of traffic to France, Rennes, Quimper and Toulon? I suppose there must be enough busienss traffic from those places to make it worthwhile.
Business and leisure I hear 😎
Ànother excellent video Casey your work never fails to impress me makes me want to fly from there now
I've flown into there, and will hopefully fly out of there one day, it sure is a neat little airport 😎
Awesome Video I Love Plane Spotting and I love how you put in the Aircraft And Flight Number and Where it's going! :)
Thank you, glad you like it 😎
I like the heart on the nose of that Flybe Dash 8 Q400 - whatever London whether threw at it xD
First time seeing that one, quite nice yes 😎

El problema es
To me, the Bae 146 is the sound of City airport.
great video THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
Worlds smallest airport in london city pretty splendid
Its not the worlds smallest airport hahaha 😃
I realy miss the q400 dash turboprop plane and british aerospace quadjet at LCY Airport 😭😭😭
The best part of LCY is that two of its spotting locations are just outside the DLR´s exit.
Yeh, very easy to get too 😎
The one plane going to Glasgow must’ve been in a hurry
Awesome! I just want to ask what this spotting place this because I am going to planespot there very soon. :)
This is next to the Newham council building, just outside of the Royal Albert DLR station 😎
Thanks for asking this question! We used the info in Casey’s reply today to take our toddler to watch the planes for his birthday & he absolutely loved it! :) Hope you’ve made it there since asking & enjoyed it if so :)

What are the best mng and afternoon times to spot at LCY and what spotting locations for morning /afternnon flights in late June please? Thanks.
When I stay on Sunborn the best times seem to be before 9 am and after 5 and one of the best places is in front of the rowing club on the other side of the dock to the runway at the present time the airport is being made larger by including a taxiway.
Lots of amazing catches here Casey! Super, super video as usual! Just sent you a PM!
I have replied 😎

Nice spotting, great view :D
Nice Video Casey.
Thanks Dan Dan 😎
Great work finally got down there myself did you use a tripod on this occasion?
Are usual takeoffs and landings East to West? No taxiways?
Yep, planes land and take off into the wind, in this instance there was a westerly wind so Runway 27, the East to West runway was in use 😎
Thanks
Great video ! What camera do you use?
Panasonic HC-W580
What’s the point for such a small plane to have 4 engines?
The reason why I searched this video was because I was in Waterloo in London U.K. and a plane over me very close to me and it was Singapore airlines A380 after that was a Emirates A380 just right above me I was like "no way a Emirates and Singapore airlines A380 take off from London city airport . Heathrow airport was miles away it would of been 10,000ft in the air can you guys tell me what airport it could be.
Wouldve 100% been Heathrow
Don't Flybe only fly to Cardiff in the mornings??
They do but i heard the route is ending soon 😃
Casey Planespotting I'm flying LCY-CWF on one of the last flights!
Nice airport, nice view.
*BUT CAN A 737 LAND HERE?*
I think nope.
Yes. Someone tried to land a 787 here and he accomplished
Hey can i youse it for the swiss cs300
Great video. I like the location of where you take the video, due to it’s location prior to where the aircrafts take off or land.
Question: What is the speed necessary for rotation on takeoff?
Richard Whitenight
Arlington, Texas
Isn't LY-DAT owned by Danish air transport?
Yep, currently leased to Cityjet I believe 😎
Very good!
Thank you 😃
Great video !
Great footage 👍
This airport is full of fantastic planes to watch! I will be banning planes that don't fly to or from this airport such as the 737 MAX! CS 100 is only plane that is good.
The BA at 2:17 must have been empty
