I’m having a hard time figuring out how you cut the part off with the boxes. Could you explain those steps?

Hi. At time 1.30 you will see that the check marks on the link and on the boxes should be checked, with only the link visible (eye on), then press the “Boolean” command - that's the whole trick.
P.S. I recommend that you first see how the basic functions of the program work. It will definitely help.
