- The all elusive Goldberg system used to set the shoes. Who dreamt this up. There are no star wheels to make it loose or tight. Just this cam, good luck.
Constantly had issues with my drum brakes until these things that no one knows how they work got replaced. On mine the teeth were worn out. Had it done professionally, so unfortunately I can't help to contribute on how the mechanism works. Just know I had the brakes done like 4 times until they figured it out.

my 2000 spectra was dumping brake fluid last week and I'm having tons of fun replacing the brake cylinder, brake line, and now assembling it all together.... I have the Haynes Manual if you need any additional details on how you adjust the cam.... the Spectra and Sephia are pretty much the same.

@@hardkore360 yep it takes time, the braking system maintenance if you can please.
Most shoes are adjusted by pulling the emergency brake then it will adjust a little at a time.
Guess what everybody Scotty Kilmer and others point to one possible major problem & why why why this car has never been able to stop via the masny bleeds, many brake parts, brake jobs. They think I have a bad brake booster! I Checked the vacuums a few yrs ago as suppiled by the engine and that 'special sucking hose it read okay. That says very little (1/3) to the system But I did not the other main 1/3 - do the step on pedal after running. Turn off running engine after 2 minutes parked. Otherwise be at home- wait a bit 10 seconds then holding brake down beforehand. start car. Does the pedal stay put or push your foot up. If it pushes That's a bad booster. I am 90 miles from my POS Sephia which has cost me easily over $1700 these last 4 yrs to repair register and insure. I cannot sell it because of liaibility with no brakes. The engine is fine however starts right away but has newly worn out 10,000 mile 2nd pair the cheap as crap O Reilly engine mounts. Kia's last 20 yrs. The O Reilly material is gone in 6 months. Get them from any junk yard of original just like Toyota. The aftermarket suppliers use old regeround tires or worse. We are at the mercy of an industry that does not al;ways want are hearts- just our money. Thank god we can share here at TH-cam, another ruthless platform that uses us like cat litter.

These New brake shoes did nothing, as did further bleeding, as did front brakes, and mech said do the rear hydraulic brake cylindedrfs (only @ $40) but ZERO results improved.. Now they say ABS Pump & Module... shtttt
