    One of the best GT-001 demos on youtube! Alex Hutchings is just a perfect demonstrator, concentrating on the musical power of this capable processor … skipping the more or less boring menu details …
    Thanks for the demo!

    You mentioned the XLR input for vocals...but you could also mic up a guitar amp and run it through the XLR input, run your guitar through the GT-001 and back out to the amp, and therefore record up to 4 tracks at once; Dry guitar for reamping, affected guitar, mic'ed amp and mic'ed amp with post-microphone effects if you wanted. Crazy stuff...

    This is the best thing ever for guitarist of today. The old school guys will grumble and lament how it was in the "good old days" but if you are serious about your music and play your guitar for an income (no matter the amount) then A: you have a laptop/iPad/smart phone and B: you have some method of connecting your guitar to that device. And if you do not, then get with the program. It's that simple. And this is it. No, let me retype that, THIS IS IT. The floor model is just as good, but having that little box next to your device is golden. I will leave the joy of exploring what this little bitch can do for you, but I will say to pencil this expense in as must have. You'll thank me later.

    If it had a MIDI DIN with the MIDI assigns inside and stereo inputs, it would be a good ES8 module. I miss some GT-8 effects and automation capabilities. Would be great having those sounds and tricks in a compact module that could be by-passed.

    Hi I've been playing guitar for quite a long time but I was never really went too deep in terms of looking for good equipment. I just have my really old zoom 505 2 and a standard guitar. Im slowly getting into bands like animals as leaders and I wanna get an 8 string. I dont know what multieffects i'll get along with it though. I personally prefer getting a multieffects pedal rather than individual ones just because of the hassle. What multieffects pedals do you suggest I get if I wanna play mostly "animals as leaders" type of music?

    So first when I've bought a Midi-keyboard and learnt to play it an affordable pitch-to-midi device comes out. Love the score transcribe function also. Those two functions are what makes this product stand out. Really great.

    • @CorrosionAudio
      @CorrosionAudio 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not a boss feature, it's one that's included in Garageband/Logic

    • @niklasroos
      @niklasroos 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      CorrosionMedia Pitch-to-midi? If you mean the transcribe function I guess it works becasue of the pitch-to-midi. Or is there a function in Logic that transcribes pitch to midi? In that case it might be time to get a new DAW.

    • @CorrosionAudio
      @CorrosionAudio 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I'm saying is that Pitch to midi is a Roland thing, but the scoring part is in the DAW, but there are several that do it.

    • @niklasroos
      @niklasroos 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      CorrosionMedia I made some research and found that there are a lot of third-party plugins that actually handles pitch to midi even if your DAW doesn't have the function built in from the start. And Logic actually has had this function for some time.

  • @Bence205

    Well, I'm sold. I currently have a Zoom G3, which I am very happy with, however my audio interface died in it, so it will not connect to my pc anymore (everything else still works).
    This seems so damn great. I have invested in tube stuff in the past, but it's just way too much of a hassle for me. 95% of the time it's just me in front of my computer, so it's really hard to justify thousands of dollars for gear that requires a ton of fiddling and setup to get a sound that I like, and if I want to record it somehow, it's another couple hundred bucks for recording equipment, hooking it all up etc etc.
    I've downsized to an IRT Studio a couple of years ago, got a Vintage 30 loaded 212 cab for it. Use it about 3-5 times a year. Planned out my studio setup: get a greenback, two SM57's, mic up both speakers, then get a 4 input audio interface so I can get both mics on two tracks, and also my dry signal from the DI out, then get a reamp box. That's almost a thousand dollars worth of investment on top of already a thousand dollars worth of gear. I'll just sell the whole rig and get this (it does all of the above) and a set of decent studio monitors, and I'll still have cash left over. It'll be a lot less hassle recording, a lot quieter, and I'm sure I'll be more than happy with the sound.

    Alex Hutchings is a Great Guitar Player...and Technic Freak, i like that!
    I got the GT-001 i use it to Rec and Mix my Guitar and arrange mix the whole Songs with DAW FX ...no problem.
    My PC is not that new a i7 4770K 3,50Ghz and 16Gbyte Ram ... over 24 Tracks are no Problem!
    Sometime the GT.001 drops out, when i try to use or play with some heavy FX like multi delay change and change
    the FX than maybe it drops out and than i need a freash Win Start!
    But that only happens when i torture the GT-001...in normal work it runs fine.

    • @wiziek
      @wiziek 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like it, poli is in Boss GP-10. People should remember that midi conversion or new amp models are in free update for Boss GT-100, GT-001 is obviously smaller, and mic input is only physical difference.

    • @leeanderton7100
      @leeanderton7100 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup - pitch to midi is monophonic on the GT001, but its full polyphonic on the GP10 (this video is also on our channel)

    • @LemmyKoopaVGA
      @LemmyKoopaVGA 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      wiziek Appreciated regardless. Poly Pitch to midi isn't easy to do through a 1/4 jack, and obviously won't ever be as perfect as a polyphonic pickup, but it exists. MIDI Guitar by Jam Origin is a really nice one, but that's a DAW plugin, not hardware.

    • @wiziek

    I've been a fan of Boss gear for years and I've had the GT-3/6/8/10 but I now feel that software plugins, especially S-Gear, have better modeling than the GT-001. Too bad, I really hoped it would sound better.

  • @LemmyKoopaVGA
    @LemmyKoopaVGA 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hmm. I'd would more like to see Boss update their MFX from scratch. A lot of the other companies, thought their previous products were loved, they released new stuff from scratch because they knew after 10 years, they could make better sounding distortion and amp modelers.
    Some of the tones were decent, and I like the concept of a desktop interface with effects build in, but again, need to work on their modeling.

      Alihambra Probably way too late to try to answer your question but,,, It really seems to me to be a matter of preference. I am a bit older than most & the GT 100 & Line 6 HD is meant to be a floor model. I can't see the screen for home recording (& def live use) so I would have to put them up on the desk & there really isn't enough room. So the 001 as a desktop (not meant to be used for a floor model) fits my needs just fine. Over all I like the Boss products more than the Line 6. Although while (I think) Boss has upgraded the amp models with in I think the amp models are still a bit better in the HD 500. Effects wise I think the Boss gt100 or the 001 (same power engine within) is the far better product. I am hoping the next generation of lower cost modelers like these are a big jump ahead. If money is not a problem I would be looking at the Axe Fx or the Kemper modelers.

      +Freddy Ebens Well, as I say it really is a matter of preference. I do have the ME 80 & in the end decided to return this one 001 in favor of the GT 100. Main reason was originally I heard the power engine as they refer to it sometimes were the same. Further reading suggest they were quite a bit different. Sorry though I got the GT 100 as the 80 does what I need for recording. Quite frankly the ME 80 has most if not all the sounds of the GT 100, well I guess not all but its ease of use make it a winner for me. Line 6 hd 500, POD, etc, I just never cared for the sound of but as I say if amp modeling is important I think they beat Boss by a little. Since we started this conversation the Helix of course has arrived on the scene. It is a whole different animal from what I have seen. Can't wait to get my hands on one. HD 300 I haven't seen. Older model? For all the multi units I own I have found that all have very good traits & all,,, have some weaknesses. I now mostly use them in combo with my other fave pedals & only use them for stuff I rarely use, chorus. I have been messing with a Zoom G3x of all things & the little beast blows me away with some of it sounds. My overall fave though are FlyRig by Tech 21 & Magnus (now Soulmate?) by T Rex. I think this 001 would be fine for home recording. Of course Alex makes everything sound great.

      +greatvanzinni exactly! Alex makes everything sound great! N hd300 is kinda a lil bit old! I felt the amp models with line 6 r damn gud than boss! n pod hds do a great job! helix is a killer but the price is damn high! I've also got a few pedals oly lukin for a gud amp modeller and digital effects to get with the loop!
