Annie's role was confusing compared to Ted, her husband who she hadn't had sex with for 4 months. There are other ways to show love and intimacy but apparently she let jealousy and insecurity win. I'm a Gale Harold fan so it was great to see him act outside of QAF. Sex appeal is all over him. 😊 This was a cute movie. I love the friendship bond.
I remember seeing this at a press screening in 2006 for a retrospective I was writing. I'm glad to see it found new life here. It's still an enjoyable movie, despite some of the dialog and story-structure issues I have with it. The cast did a really good job. Some performances weren't as strong as others, but I've seen all of this ensemble go on to give much better performances in other projects, so I'm assuming the awkwardness came down to director's/editor's choices. I hadn't seen QAF yet (I didn't discover the series until 2007), but Gale Harold did give humanity to what easily could have been a very dislikable character. Looking back at Gale's career, he's done a lot of that character work. I maintain that the Foley artist(s) on this film needed to be fired. I'm hard-of-hearing, and even I was like, "That does not sound like authentic shoe tread. The liquid pouring audio is loud AND out of sync with the visuals."
@AwakeNation2026 I'm glad. I thought that was a nice addition to the end, even if I felt the dissolution of their marriage seemed unreasonably fast. I'm glad it seemed like Gale's character had the potential for happiness as well as his ex at the end. I was just so bothered by some of the filmmaking aspects of this film that were done poorly. I know it had budgetary constraints, but even film students could have remedied these issues for credit alone.
My mom and I have a problem with him wearing his glasses during a passionate kiss like that. I mean it’s ok 4 a quick kiss, but shit throw those glasses on the f-ing ground and reach into it already. Give it all you’ve got. You know? And this must have been before Gale got his juggling act down because that glass, wth at least use your elbow! Ha ha! Am I right? ;)
@@UniquelyGritandGrace2023 As a glasses wearer, I concur. Maybe kissing for like a moment with them on is okay, but if it goes on, take them off. So uncomfortable for both parties. And I'm not an authority on juggling, so I can't tell. I thought he did well enough.
