AVG over 17 week ref period WTD WORK TIME DIRECTIVE / WRITTEN INTO ENGLISH LAW ALSO . 48 HOURS, DRIVING / DUTY / OTHER WOORK ++POA. THATS why most companys who run 24/ 7. The DRIVERS do 4 on 2 off rolling week IE 4 x12 hour shifts = 48 week , Then they have 2 days min 45 hours off . HOWEVER & DRIVER can sign out / OPT out MAX 48 hours week who in the hell wants work 50/ 60 hours week ????. SOME PEOPLE WANT GET LIFE .
Some people don't have the choice but to push the hours out, 60 hours a week is plenty for me, 5 night shifts, Sun - Thu, keeps my head above the water, got 3 grown up kids to support, bills, mortgage all add up. I get my Saturday to myself, that's my golf day, so I still have a life. I'm not as old as you but I'm not far off lol, the thing I don't want is to still keep doing this s##t when I'm retired, which I see so many drivers still doing. Stay safe brother.

After 35yrs of being a HGV technician I semi retired an now drive class 1 at weekends averaging 20hrs which I take home £400 wish I did sooner
