Really excellent review. I was trying to figure out whether to go with the Core 300 or the Core 300S. After watching this it's clear the Core 300S is what I need. Thank you for an extremely informative video.
These are so cool. I came to TH-cam looking for review & how-to videos post purchase. I’ve never owned an air purifier until Thursday. I ordered three 300S and a 400S for my home. I can already breathe better! I think it’s emitting a clean smell/scent that we couldn’t smell before setting up these units, and my hvac system is recirculating it throughout the house.
Well I do like the sensor for air quality, but I went with the 300 because it costs less than half as much used, and all I need to do is buy a new filter and it is good as new.
If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!
Omg, Man this is the type of comparison video that people are looking for!! what a good job dude, this video is truly underrated and deserves more likes! Keep this type of video going man! I already follow and give the like, if i can give more than one like? i swear i will !
I have a question please regarding Levoit 300 and 300s that apart from the smart features is there any difference in filtration? Every reviewer mentions the filtration is same for 300 and 300s since both use the same filter but on the Levoit website they mentioned something about Hepasmart technology for 300s model that enhances the performance of the included Hepa 13 true filter resulting in filtering 99 percent bacteria and viruses as well but they did not mention this technology for the 300 core model. Anyone of you have more info about it, I am trying to find the answer. They mention this Hepasmart technology for all the S model series of their units but not for the normal models. So is there an improvement in filtration with the smart models as claimed by company?
The only disappointment I'm having after buying the 300S is that it shows my air quality being very good all the time. When I put it in my room it showed "5" PM2.5 for a minute and then changed to 1. Put it in bedroom when sleeping at night, later checked the app to see that only at some points it rose slightly above 1. Which is surprising to me, considering I have 2 long thread carpets in my apartment and a cat who I am slightly allergic to.
Hi, I would clean the filter and if you are within the warranty period, reach out to Levoit asap. You can test the sensor easily by placing it in your kitchen and cooking. The reading should spike to red with any type of smoke or cooking fumes. If it doesn't spike, your sensor could be defective.
@@TheFrenchGlow Hi. It's a completely new product, have had it for 3 days. I already accidentally tested it when blowing a candle out - it spiked up. Seems that everything is working well? Maybe it's the good air quality in my country and frequent ventilation of rooms with open windows. Still think it should show higher numbers due to the cat.
Hi! I would not recommend for 800 Sq ft areas as air is constantly being refreshed so it would not work well in areas above 300 Sq ft and optimally for a room about 250 Sq ft refresh rate every 12.5 mins. Also all of the air purification would happen in the general vicinity of the air purifier so you would have large areas where that dead air would not reach the air purifier. Even more, you would need to run the 300s at max speed all the time, shortening the lifespan of the filters and raising the noise level.
@@themichaelreyes I been trying to google but just want to make sure. So everything the 400S has, the 300S has too? Basically the 400S is just the bigger version? Because I’m seeing that the 400S has a few features that the 300S don’t? Thanks.

I got the 300s for a dusty basement bed room, to improve my allergies. Out of the box the sensor is indicating that the air quality is good, 1-2. How well does it detect dusk and other allergens?
I've got the same thing happening. I thought for sure it'd say the sir quality is a little rough but it just says very good. Can't really say the air intake is doing a fantastic job either I'm almost disappointed
@@masonmethot3186 I've for sure felt an improvement in air quality and allergies. so, I'm still happy with it. But the sensor isn't as sensitive to dust as I expected.
Thanks for this video. I just ordered the 400s for my bedroom since it’s a large room that has two, walk-in closets and a large en-suite. I can't remember which mode they were referring to in this case) Any chance you could share your opinion please as I'm looking for a purifier for the bedroom.
It is whisper quiet in sleep mode. If there is a high pitch, it would be a faulty unit or something is caught in its turbine. I use it in my babies room with sleep mode being about 24 dB and high if I want white noise. Hope that helps!
