I let my pup sleep with me when I was single and when I got married I never regretted that I did. Max isn’t a Saint Bernard, he can be a small snuggly guy at the foot of your bed. With my current dog, I just make sure that he only gets on the bed when I invite him and he responds when I say off. Allow yourself some max snuggles 💛

Michel, brain fog is completely normal. Eleven years ago, my husband passed away from cancer, leaving me with a 10,13,and 15 year old to raise on my own. I am not exaggerating when I say that I felt like a zombie(best word that I can think of) for years….it was as if somebody had cut me open, scooped out all of my essential organs, then sewn me back up and ordered me to keep on living. Wow, I just read that back to myself and it sounds so extreme and probably TMI. But I just wanted you to know that you are not alone. What you are experiencing is normal and cut yourself as much slack as you can

Not TMI ❤️To know that others share that feeling of grief...there is solace in knowing you're not alone. And knowing that the awful feeling is not forever is equally as consoling. Sending you light & healing✨

I’m a new viewer and much older than you, but I wanted to pass along something I learned about our brains when in crisis. When one of my kids was going through a very serious health crisis and we were in the midst of chemo and hospitalizations, I felt like my brain just wasn’t working. I would forget things like my purse, couldn’t make decisions about food or dinner, struggled with ordinary life stuff, etc. Our wonderful child life therapist told me this and it has stayed with me for years: “Think of your brain as a spaghetti colander. When we are in crisis, a healthy brain sheds what isn’t vital or necessary and holds on to what is needed in order to keep us functioning. You aren’t forgetting things or being lazy or slow…your brain is merely shedding what isn’t necessary in that moment in order to protect you”.
Much love to you and blessed be 💕~Krislynner

I definitely feel you on how small talk can sometimes bring up painful topics. I'm not close with my family, so whenever colleagues or even cashiers at the grocery store ask about my holiday plans, or assume I'm going to see family, I just force a smile and answer something generic. I know their questions are their way of showing they care so I've been trying not to dwell on it too much. Easier said than done though. Sending a warm virtual hug Michel 🥰

Michel, I am so grateful for you and your videos. Grief comes in different stages and they don’t come in order. I’ve learned over the years that when you’re grieving it’s like a roller coaster, one moment you’re just enjoying the breeze on your face and then all of a sudden here comes a great big mountain and then Bam downhill you go, but the most amazing thing about roller coasters is that you know you’re not gonna be down for long. I feel like life is like a roller coaster ride, no matter what stage or age or season that you’re in, you just need to hold on. I love you girl, thank you for being so brave and sharing your life with us.

Your right, I believe the Bible describes it as peaks and valley's!! At 54 I can sure say that's definitely an accurate description!!

      @Shop-Girl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@ccryder654 I will 50 next year, and life has been a wild ride. Yes, the Bible does describe it as peaks and valley’s :-) whenever I am feeling like the dip is so low, I repeat to myself Roman 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Oh yes those little casual conversations with strangers can be so hard at times. I can remember breaking down sobbing in the middle of a book store a couple month after losing my mom when a well meaning store employee asked if I needed help finding a Mother’s Day gift. It does get easier though as time goes.

Hi Michel. My 1st and 3rd marriages were both very violent so the separation was very different. My 1st involved 2 children who weren't able to be with me because of the violence so they were somewhere where they could be protected and although it's different, being alone, without my children, was excruciating. Starting over...new place, new things...I felt a sense of accomplishment. I know the reason is totally different as to why our marriages ended but , they still ended, and I did love him ( and hate ) at the same time so the pain is still there. I caught the comment about the sheets...I get it... sleeping on the same ones that you slept on with Brook.... so tough...so you need to get some new ones dear. As I said...the reasons are different, but it will get easier...with time. LOTS OF TIME in some cases. That ended 26 years ago. My children are in their 30's. You do whatever you need to do, with no guilt, to be at peace. I'm so happy that you got Max. I love your spirit dear.

Your new home is lovely !!! When I got divorced I cried every day for a year!!! That was not a sad thing as I came to realize tears can be a gift of healing!!! After the year of tears was done, I I woke up one morning and I knew I was going to be okay!!! Jesus was with me through all the sadness, and I know that you go to Him for strength!!! As the book of Ecclesialtes says There is a time for everything...a time to mourn and a time to dance...
You will dance again in His time!!! Blessings and love ❤

love the aesthetics of how you're styling the place . it's so clean, minimal, fresh, and it's the perfect combo of modern and cozy .
p.s. you're doing way better than you're giving yourself credit for . you moved States, moved homes, moved to a new city, set up an entire apartment, done a bunch of partnerships, made content, and all in a matter of a couple weeks, while also going through the toughest ish, that's enough productivity to last you the rest of the year . honestly at this point you could nap the rest of the year and i'd still say you be thriving lool .

  • @joalyng

New sheets and bedding are definitely a good step in the process of making it feel like home. Loving your new place and Max being such a cutie pie! ❤️ I went through a loss last year at this time, it was the hardest thing I've ever done. The biggest step I took was doing small moments of self care for myself along with starting therapy. Those and having patience with myself that I wasn't going to be my usual self. It has taken a while, but I have started to feel more like myself as the year progressed. I suggest finding ways to acknowledge your grief and loss. That to me seemed so important rather than ignoring it all the time. (I did both as needed though) sending you love!!!

When I went through a breakup with my longterm partner, I remember how frustrated i felt about my brain not working. I found the TEDtalks/books by psychologist, Guy Winch, incredibly helpful. He talks a lot about the science/brain impacts of break ups, and it made me feel more normal regarding how physically and emotionally "off" I felt at the time. Sending you so many healing thoughts- but kind and patient with yourself. Grief isn't linear.

Michel I lost my 20 year old daughter five years ago and I can relate to your comment about your brain being at 10 percent. I remember not being able to do the basic functions like brushing my teeth or bathing. I couldn't drive my car as it was too dangerous because I couldn't concentrate. I know the saying Time does help to heal is trite but time does soften the edges. I am happy to hear you are trying to be kind to yourself because it is important to give yourself the time and permission to grieve.

Michel I’ve also wondered multiple times if I’ve made someone talk about something or bring up memories that could be painful or hard… I know it’s so rare but I am still sometimes scared of it! I think it’s probably important to be aware of it, and sensitive but not scared of talking to someone because of that reason.

I have a possible, and easy, idea for covering the metal electrical door on the wall in bedroom. Maybe put a decorative hook or knob of some kind above it and use it to hang a favorite piece of clothing or outfit of the moment, something you enjoy looking at, i.e. a blouse (maybe paired with skirt or pants hung together) or dress on a special decorative hanger, maybe a wooden one.

    Good timing for the holidays!
I JUST commented on your most recent vid asking about ur Cozy Earth promo code bc I tried using your old one to buy a duvet cover but it didn’t work- I’m so happy!
I hope they give you more than free pajamas for being affiliated with them bc I’m sure you’ve made them a ton of sales!
Thanks for keeping a good relationship with them bc I really wanted to buy something to treat myself too!
The only thing that bothers me is that it’s not fair that rrrrqyyyyhh haha my husband always gets to benefit from the things I treat myself with and rarely happens the other way around🙄😂
But I also like to have a nice, comfortable guest room- especially linens bc they’re isn’t much else they’re guaranteed to use or see so intimately/closely and it reflects a lot to provide nice guest accommodations- some ppl disagree bc the guest will overstay their welcome, but I have no problem kicking ppl out or making up an excuse when I don’t want them to visit.
But thats just something else my husband ends up benefiting from too. 🤷🏼‍♀️ haha

When I went through my divorce I had a hard time focusing. I felt "spacy".....I would set my purse down while shopping, at restaurants, etc and I would forget to grab it before I left. It's normal!! Take this time to focus on you and what your needs are and what you want out of life...You deserve so much more and God is showing you this!!

I am loving the decor/styling content. Serious aesthetic goals. And very inspiring as I continue to decorate my own apartment

You would enjoy bamboo pillows as well. Plus you need satin pillowcases to protect your hair.

I love the categorized vogs! I had a thought idea for covering the electrical box behind your bedroom door. You put a nice macrame hanging to hide it😊

I came across your channel and I just want you to know how grateful I am for your videos. My husband asked me for a divorced a couple days ago because of the strained relationship I have with my in laws. I think the most heart breaking part is that our relationship is great but because of this he decided to leave our marriage of 6 years for his family. And I am completely lost and feel like my whole world is falling apart. Seeing your videos of you making progress and that it does get better even though there is a lot of healing ahead gives me so much hope.
