All new homes have to have cameras to monitor and make sure child exploitation isnt happening inside the home they built. Its no different

To be honest, if they ban use of encryption on the internet, then someone sends an encrypted file to someone, they could flag that file as being suspicious automatically because it is encrypted. I'm just theorizing how they maybe are planning to implement that act, I very much do not condone this act.
The name of the bill personally offends me. Earn it? Earn what?!? The right to encryption? So you have to "earn" it now by collecting fed brownie points...
Its a nice journey with your channel and listen to your opinions. Even though I don't always agree with your opinions, this video is just you spitting facts. Agreed.
I used to work at the secret service and in the late 90's they brought in the guy who created pgp to ask him if he would put in a backdoor for them. He got up, didn't say a word, and just left. Imagine if the big tech companies had just a sliver of integrity as this man. All backdoors weakens software because it will eventually be discovered by hackers. What's app uses end to end encryption but they hold the private keys and can read all your messages.
For what good it will do, call your representatives and senators, folks. Make it very clear to them that you WILL vote for their opponent if they vote to pass this act.
They never try to hide it. It's always right there in front of our faces. All they need is a couple "mass shootings", a "terrorist attack", a "pandemic", or other national or global tragedy and everyone goes into fight or flight and begs for their freedoms to be taken away.
I prefer Heinlein's razor: never attribute to malice that which may be explained by ignorance - but dont rule out malice. The point is that if you go through life believing that people are never intentionally doing harm, you are setting yourself up for nefarious characters. Instead, we should behave as if people are not intentionally doing harm (until evidence is demonstrated) while reserving judgement on intentions.
Ben Franklin said it best: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." The EARN IT Act won't make anyone safer.

I want this law passed, but only for a month. That way I can watch with a giant mountain of popcorn as independent and state sponsored hackers have a field day capturing every email sent by a every gov't official to their corporate overlords. It'll make Snowden look like small fry.
Never give the benefit of the doubt to someone who is trying to take your freedom away.
If the government actually wanted to "protect the children", they wouldn't have let the jeff guy "end" himself.
@@technic1285 exactly. No one would be silly enough to lose so much valuable information on a single person.
It's amazing that people STILL haven't figured out that Epstein was a fall guy.
They are voiding the bill of rights as much as they can. Or at least normalizing that you dont have rights when you do.
???
"Human rights" are an illusion under a criminal organization, so the bill of rights never mattered.
bureaucracy at this level is the end of every society
😢
If Google is analyzing people's private photos with their doctor, not only is that a huge breach of privacy and patient-doctor confidentiality, but it also says more about them that they would see a picture like that and think that it was sexual than anything. Like, who's the real pervert in that situation?
If parents were not lazy and were active in raising children then "protecting children" would fall flat on its face
It's always malice from the government, not ignorance.
How about we just restrict access to the internet for children? We all know it's extremely detrimental to development anyways. It would actually work (somewhat), no privacy issues, and it would fix Ipad baby syndrome!
Maybe I'm bias because I greatly benefited from not being allowed to watch tv or use the internet until I was 12. Just seems like a good idea
@corruptedvortex4425 Do you really think the skills required to have an online life require much training? It's not exactly complicated. I doubt their skills would be far behind. I've got a bachelor's in computer scientist, my upbringing was no obstacle.
I know 12 is still a child. Restrictions would need to be specific, not just based on if you are under 18, and certainly not based on my childhood.
@@corruptedvortex4425 feel like you'd benefit from reading up about neuroplasticity a bit more g.
I've seen literal babies with smartphones.
People just need to supervise their children
Extremely opposed to any blanket bans like this. Autodidactic (self-teaching) individuals will have their growth stunted, smarter ones will find their way through sure.
It's just a bandage fix that completely ignores the core problems.
Internet isn't detrimental - unhealthy social interactions, algorithms that encourage negative emotions, typical Corporatist propaganda that makes products look like cures - take your pick, but those are the sorts of problems we face. Let parents deal with their own children's care, and focus on keeping bad actors away from our tools.
When are we gonna be outraged enough to do anything about this?
Exactly.
We need to modernize torches and pitchforks to put the cityslicker and glowie scum in their place.
never, they won
Anyone outraged enough to see through these crystal clear lies, will be called names and a conspiracy theorist. It's funny how easy it is to control a population, just call them names and act like they're stupid, and they'll back down.
Only two things can stop them. A civil war or people not paying taxes anymore.
Soon cloud computing and cloud storage will get so powerful that governments will outlaw privately hosted files on hardware. All computers will be required to host all of the file data in online cloud infrastructure where law enforcement or corporations would be able to "background check" you. Corporations would be able to run machine learning algorithms to detect copyright violations and remove files directly from your PC. It will become impossible to own copywritten content without a license.
Remember when windows had the My computer folder? Now it's call This PC. It is just too obvious these days.
I've had windows 10 delete Software backup folders that contained old Windows ISOs, suffice to say they already do it...

I've been warning people about this for over a year, nobody seems to understand that it has absolutely zero possibility of saving a child.
How about it gives easier access to predators, about that.
i love this "its to protect the children" excuse, its such a shitty excuse, not even children fall to this shit
Their braindead parentz do.
Hate the "protecting children" argument because its applicable to anything that has to do with privacy online
When the government says that it's for your safety, they're lying.
This is why it should be against international law to make a law that makes stuff less private then make the excuse that its for the children,MAYBE JUST DONT LET CHILDREN ON FUCKING PHONES AND COMPUTERS IN THAT CASE?
@@Damian-cilr2 International law doesn't apply to Americans. The Constitution is the SUPREME law of the land.
I am afraid that soon it will be necessary to just automatically refuse any legal proposition if it contains “protect the children” key word. In the last years nothing but civil rights oppressing bullsht was released under this label. And it is true everywhere around the world
they will just go to something else
how to protect children from the dangers of the internet:
do not give children access to such dangerous tools
consider the internet an axe
can it cut your hand? absolutely
what is it's duty? chop wood
proper training will minimize hand cuts and maximize wood collection
in the same way teaching children what not to do will defend the little buggers from going to naughty site 342 (but still for lord dont give little timmy unsupervised googol™ access)
speaking of injured hands and axes, I collect wood by punching trees.

If the government would get access to a backdoor to encryption, that also means hackers can get access to the encryption. So we can just all stop encrypting anything as a whole if that gets passed
I like learning about this stuff but I also hate it at the same time because it just makes me depressed since it seems like there's not much we can do about it as everyday citizens.
Citizen? Are you implying that you have rights?
The goal is to reach a point where you have none. We will own you, and we will control you. You will be our slaves.
Let's point out the elephant in the room: all these lawmakers just want to sit around looking at illegal images on the clock funded by us, the responsible taxpayers 🤮 that's why it's a commission they're proposing instead of a separate entity
Then start committing tax fraud, the criminal organization can't take away our illusion of rights if we take away their illusion of money!
Quality video, thanks for keeping us in the loop. It’s annoying how often this keeps getting pushed.

There are actually USPS (possibly other carriers as well) shipping centers that occasionally open and search mail that comes their way. So snail mail packages aren’t guaranteed secure if they pass through one of the major cities that has one of these mail search centers.
They always search your shit, it's S they've got heat guns to preserve your label and they rip your shit out of the box and then check it before throwing it into a new box.
People don't seem to realize that banning something only prevents law abiding citizens from using/accessing it. Criminals are never affected by bans, because thats the definition of being a criminal
And of course the government and corporate entities are also always exempt and/or have the resources and legal means to bypass such laws and regulations through intentionally ignored loopholes
But that also means it reduces the people doing it, which is still stonks
Australia tried something like this in 2017. Our then Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull came out with this gem:
“The laws of mathematics are very commendable, but the only law that applies in Australia is the law of Australia.”

Seen people argue that its not a violation to our right of privacy since we dont make the app, its provided by someone else and therefore isnt protected. Most people dont make their homes. What if the government made a bill that required homebuilders to have a way to catch and report crimes inside of homes they built? All new homes have to have cameras to monitor and make sure child exploitation isnt happening inside the home they built. Its no different
It's the constant return of the EARN IT act that tempts me to run against Blackburn for 2024.

To be honest, if they ban use of encryption on the internet, then someone sends an encrypted file to someone, they could flag that file as being suspicious automatically because it is encrypted.
I'm just theorizing how they maybe are planning to implement that act, I very much do not condone this act.
Everyone one is having their privacy stripped away because parents cant be bothered to do their job .

Sounds like the online harms act here in the UK where WhatsApp and others have to give up end to end encryption

Yeah legislation against "something" online. Always an amazing thing
If someone (minister) loves a child more than its parents do then such a person is called a pedophile and should be in jail.
Ben Franklin said it best: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
