Can't get the raw materials for less than current prices which track the price of oil even though it's recycled. But spread cost over 20 years and compare to wood and it IS cheaper than wood. No maintenance, and no replacement for decades. Housing associations all over are replacing wood with recycled plastic using their maintenance and replacement budgets.

The earlier versions of recycled plastic did have issues such as this, but I can assure you our recycled plastic does not melt and our fencing on Your Housing's housing estate in Partington, South Manchester has been up for about 7 years and still looks great and we did have some very hot summers.

Bit pricey. Around £150k for a new extruder. I know this because we just bought one.
