This is such a beautiful and emotional song. I love it! Love the sound of it, her voice, the voice arrangements and music and the lyrics are magic to me. The whole feeling it creates takes me back to times I felt just like that.
I also absolutely love this little gem of a track 😊 as much as I would have loved it to be bigger, I do think that the short length really encapsulates the theme of the songwriting... A bridge would have felt like structure... And this song to me is almost like a secret yearning the author has.
I also don't think this necessarily needs to be on the heels of a breakup. It could be anyone the author has been with long ago or only ever met in some capacity in their lives non-romantically.
To me it's slightly obsessive yearning.
I know this is super typical of many European cities and towns, I'm South African and in our older, smaller towns, it's very common for houses on main streets to have their dining rooms or parlours open and quite near to the street. And it's also quite common in smaller towns for people not to close their curtains in the early evenings either.
