Agreed, I just found it about a week ago and I cannot stop listening!! The narrator is a little too soothing for I keep falling asleep lol. Great channel!
You're absolutely right, but I wonder why the writing is so consistently excellent. Did all the soulders have writing degrees? Or, did the compilation include corrected and expanded text by an editor? I agree with you about how engaging these stories are, but I keep wondering about the authenticity and originality of the writing.
I see you've started adding the names of the soldiers in the comments which I'd much appreciated. Do you think you could start organizing the uploads into playlists as well? Since you upload readings from different memoirs, a playlist would be nice to organize to keep the uploads organized. So you could follow along a story in order from one soldiers perspective. Instead of having to search around to figure out which reading is from which memoir.
Interesting and informative . Good photography picture 📷 of the Russian soldiers. Enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Special thanks to veteran soldiers sharing personal information/combat experiences. Enabling historians to replicate Diaries/memoirs. Making this audio session more authentic and possible. For viewers to better appreciate the hard ships suffered by not only soldiers but civilians.
The spoken text is interrupted at 36:40 by what appears to be formatting commands, which continues until 37:10. Is it possible to edit this from the audio, as it adds nothing to the excellent account and if anything detracts from it.
a miserable war.....pointless 'bravery' and 'sacrifice' for the motherland/fatherland for which the reward is a 2 inch red ribbon with a blue and yellow stripe
This is the best channel ever. Just an absolute gold mine for first hand accounts I love it
Yes!!

@@WorldWar2Storiesthanks you are an asset to listening historians!
@@WorldWar2Stories Really enjoy your work, just excellent
YES!
@@WorldWar2Storiesit would be helpful if you posted a picture of the publication/memoir/diary in the thumbnail or in one of the subsequent pictures.
Great job….like others said would love individual playlists. Your the man!
You couldn't ask for more bad luck than six tigers in your town.😂
having them named and as playlist is great you get a real sense for each solider
Okay, that bit with them deliberately running in front of a German machine gun was insane. And no one was hurt!

Tragic that the senseless war is being repeated
.... And Probably More & More To Come I'd Wager.... 😢😢😢
Allies should have waited until russians and Germans would've killed each other and then attacked the winner. Should NEVER have supported russians.
Fast forward 80 years: "Typed the pizza shop coordinates and pressed the enter key".
There were a good number of “decision makers” in that decision location.
In the rubble plenty of obvious covert adversaries to Ivan : )

yes, I am going to edit it. Its just a mistake from me. Thanks for the catch.
You missed a few seconds in between that don’t have ads.
Great drama. You should put up an area map instead of unrelated photos. A map would be a good visual, thanks.
The Russians never called it the Eastern front because it was the western front for the Russians
Exactly the Eastern Front borders China. 1000's of miles apart. Infantry reinforcements came from the east.
At 36 minutes 54 seconds there is an issue
Good catch! I will fix this. Thanks
I would not like to fight any of these guys in combat
@37:00 what in tarnation
Thanks. I will fix this.
lol
Alright!
Glad there are some stories from the Russian side.

Thank you for ripping so much of the guts out of the Gman army.
Thank Stalin for ripping the guts out of 20 million of his own people as well. A monster worse than Hitler by far
I would be so pissed seeing a Gerry laughing at me and having no way to get even.
Gerry?
