idk about the whole perfume advert thing, i feel like because it's a male perfume they want the audience to instantly see it as being for a male if that makes sense. They are saying in a way, wear this perfume and you will get female attention just like the man in the shot. If anything she's not seen as decoration she's seen as something to work for. She is seen as important as without her you have a man sat on his own, wheres the sub-conscious message there? The male only wears the fragrance to attract the women and this is seen as the male is the main subject in the advert. If you put the woman in the frame as well, is the female attracting the male? Or is the male attracting the female? It makes it hard to tell and i think this has been done to target the advert to make it instantly recognisable to the men as being for men as oppose to not making her seem unimportant and de-facing her. Great video none the less, all your videos have helped me with my revision! Edit: 3:16
Sam Counsell the point is the frame only shows the womens body. Its objectifies and sexualises her for no real reason. If they wanted to show the women as "something to work for" as u say, they wouldn't have just put a pair of shiny legs in the frame, as they did.
Sam Counsell i dont think they did this to ensure the advert is recognisable as advertising a male product. I think this is done to send the message that if u wear this perfume youll get more sexual action. Which is stupid and the advert is wrong for sexualising women in this way.
@@matthewli5249 Is the advert sexualising the woman in this way? Or are you interpreting it in that way?.. Like i mentioned before "They are saying in a way, wear this perfume and you will get female attention" which is true, as if you smelt like dog shite, i don't think anyone would be interested. Smelling good would be another step towards getting female attention, as i said "something to work for". Also if this poster was reversed and it was just a female in the shot with just a guys arm around her (for example), would you think advert was for a male or a female?
@@samu171 okay but with the idea that women are something ‘you work for’, you are still objecting them. women are not a ‘prize’ (the advert implies she’s not her own person but a part of the dream male life and one of his sexual conquests)
Thank you, but luck won't do anything, it is about how hard you want it, even then, wanting it hard won't do anything cos you need to work hard for it. Point is, luck won't help but thanks anyway.
Ive learnt more by watching you than going to school
Glad it’s helpful!

Hi miss
Why is feminism still being taught in 2022
Er because it’s still relevant?
@@mrsfisher8961 it’s relevant to try and make men weaker?
Yeah you might want to study Feminism a bit more because that’s not what it is. Feminism is the belief that women should have EQUAL rights to men.
@@mrsfisher8961 woman already have equal rights to men in all modern countries
