YG is being "strict" to Blackpink, because of the bad past of YG artists. Blackpink seniors, like Bigbang and 2ne1 have the "freedom" that everyone wants for Blackpink, but they ended up involved in tons of issues and scandals. YG is only doing it, to make Blackpink focus on their career and isolate from toxic kpop environment. Also, the fact that a lot of kpop idols commiting suicide bcs of these issues, is very alarming; thats why YG is very careful on BP to make them successful from beginning to the end.

Don’t get wrong with YG’s strict decision with BLACKPINK. YG’s doing that just to protect them. Like the no driving, because before in BIGBANG it’s Daesung if I remember it right, he got involved in a car accident. They are allowed to do things they want as long as they will ask YG first for approval. It’s like asking your parents if you want to do this or that. And by the months or year past, y’all will understand them for doing this. Even on how they released their music.

Alot of these rules only applies to Trainees and Rookie years. they are allowed alot of that now. Jennie also already said that she has a Drivers license. and in in the "I am Somi" Vlog series, somi gave alcohol to Lisa and the other girls. Also that they arent allowed to meet other male idols is not really true anymore. That also was during their rookie years. now they are actually close friends with alot of YG male idols. (For example Jennie is really close with rapper Mino)

These YG restrictions do not only apply to BLACKPINK though. So to say they are the most controlled group in kpop is not true.
Also, they are not completely banned from doing this from the list of restrictions, but they must get approval. She is right when image is highly regarded, especially with knetz..they can go from loving you to tearing you down in the same breath.

I´m splitted... On the one hand, it is very strict, on the other hand, they need this protection. At least Jennie got her driving licence as far as I know. I would cancel the driving rule. But I like the no alcohol, smoking and tattoo rule.

Jisoo once said something kinda ‘the rules are just there so that u wont do it without the company’s knowing’. The girls can definitely do whatever they want as long as they r under the company’s control. And some rules like they cant get a driving license or drink alcohol are because some blackpink’s seniors got in the same troubles and their career was affected, YG just does not want blackpink to suffer the same thing.
Yeah not all of this true. Ive 100% seen them drinking alcohol. Pretty sure ive also seen Jennie drive before. The rules change as they age. I am sure when they debuted the no alcohol or driving was true but as they got older the rules have loosened up.

this video is misleading and inaccurate, as pointed out by the others. I think the girls respect the restrictions they have. If youve been a yg stan for long youll know, Kmedia had an obsession with pinning down YG and the artists, actually before blackpink, yg artists are literally the most free artists ever, drinking at clubs, saying whatever they want, creating their own music, even dissing shows and companies which are not really wrong but kmedia always had its ways to drag them with it, good thing theyre strong but it still had its toll. Look even now, with all these privacy with Blackpink kmedia still was able to make scandals out of everything (nurse outfit, even freaking dating scandals with teddy, ugh). As theyre aging we can all feel the restrictions loosening and YGE is also getting back up in an incredible rate, I hope we'll see YG family being free like before again

Just in case, you can't hear what Jennie said at 1:34 when they were asked about the writing process, she quietly said, "give them the lyric". Then, Rosé said that the Teddy and other producers make changes. In my opinion, they wrote the lyric for their songs and then give it to Teddy and other producers to let them make final changes before releasing the songs. I am certain of this because I saw a behind the scene video on Twitter that show Jennie admitted that she wrote the song Stay. That video have English subtitle. Also, both Jennie and Jisoo work with Teddy and other producers to write Lovesick Girls. Both Jennie and Jisoo are composers while Jennie is also the lyricist for Lovesick Girls. Their names are on the credit list only for Lovesick Girls. Rosé wrote her own songs. Producer Tushar Apte confirm that Lisa did the rap verse for Love To Hate Me during an interview. Also, during an interview, Lisa herself confirm that she wrote the rap verse for As If Your Last. It annoys me that they don't get enough credits for their participation in the songwriting. They do participate in the songwriting of their songs, however YG often not give them credits for their work by not putting their names on the credit list where it should be. 😇 If anyone want to see the interviews or Jennie’s behind the scene video, I will gladly give the link. 😃

The driving and some of the others I completely understand. I would get rid of the dating ban. Idols are human. Theyre just people.
