Wow, i was honestly looking forward to the rule update.. but now im just devastated. What i hoped to get were adjustments of the pointcosts of models, who were too cheap or too expensive. Something like a balancing update, cuz GW brought out new models in the recent years who are too strong (Gorulf, Rutabi etc.), while other models are kinda unplayable (compare Knight of Umbar with Khamul for example. Or the 8 points for the moria blackshield in comparison with the 7 points for a prawler, which is the waaaaay better model^^) What it seems we are getting is a completly random crippling of entire armylists. The Corsair Reavers and the Men at Arms of Dol Amroth are essential models for their armylists, they make those lists fun and versatile. For what reason are Dunland, Khand and Mahud removed, while the Easterling Army, who in the books only consists of nameless warriors, remains? And as you already pointed out, it is COMPLETLY random.They remove things like Khamul, Gildor and Erestor while keeping Rutabi and other made-up stuff. Few weeks ago GW invented things like werewolves of Angmar and multiple made up heroes, they can remain, but Mauhur can´t? the fck? Im just sooo tilted. Probably won´t buy this new rulebook and stick to the old rules with my friends. There aren´t any tournaments where we live in Germany anyway. So it doesn´t even affect me much. But still. Simply why? Isn´t it nice to have multiple options for your armys? Why can´t everyone play the things they want to play? Just balance it accordingly, maybe readjust the fighting value. But this? Im soooooo disappointed. GW, it´s the wrong direction and i dunno if your doing yourself a favor removing some of the most liked models following a completly random selection. But enough of me crying a river about this. Thanks for the video!:)
Yes I wouldn't be surprised if there were negotiations character by character. If Amazon or someone else doesn't need the rights they may have negotiated to keep them in some form. For example Amazon will definitely want the unique ringwraiths for RoP before they were corrupted so they were always going.
Massive worry is how armies are going to play with this removal of profiles from the armies of lord of the rings books. Which is supposed to have all the armies lists, are harad now only going to be a protect a mummak army? Is moria now purely balrog and friends? Thats my biggest concern.
I just started with khazad dum, i own armies of Rohan, Rivendell, Moria, Isengard and Mordor. a lot of my armies are legacy now, if they bring new plastics to my factions, i will buy the new edition. But for now I think they can keep it.
I also noticed Gundabad orc warriors are up for last chance to buy. Not mentions as getting reboxed, potentially range rotated? Probably slim chance of the them redoing them in plastic.

I dunno, I feel like being so doom and gloom right now is kind of silly. As far as you know all the models they're putting on "death row" will be played in every single tournament outside of GW stuff for years... And we also know nothing about how armies will be built in the next edition so saying they "killed factions" is kind of meaningless. Not only because the models that are "gone" aren't really gone, but also because we know nothing about how these armies will be built, what options they'll have, etc.

Can the overall names of the factions in this list not be a sign for things to come? Misty mountains for Moria (and maybe goblin town), Elven Kingdoms for Rivendell and Lorien? Who knows, how list construnction will work from here on out.
Sorry to hear veteran players get smashed like this. I own the two Moria Shamans. That's cool, they can be my regular shamans. Otherwise all my models are safe. But I have only been playing for a year. I think this shake up was absolutely necessary to attract new players. And manye sculpts are horribly outdated.
I don't disagree that there's a portion of these models that are dated, but there's a not insignificant amount of these models that were literally made and released in the last 4 years. I do genuinely hope this edition brings new people to the game, but even players who only started this year have been pretty heavily hit by these models "leaving" -Liam
I know we still have profiles, and I know we still have the current edition rules if we want them, so current players hopefully won't suffer too much. But to completely gut some factions means the potential for new players, or new projects, is massively reduced. And the logical inconsistencies with who stays and who goes is maddening, I cannot see how they've made these decisions, and it's actually frustrating. Razgush and Muzgur gone, but Tom Bombadil, Goldberry, and the Ruffians? They're fine? I hate it

We were told profiles are moving into legacy and no longer supported, and people are surprised when it happens??? it was going to be enough to fill a legacies PDF document wasnt just going to be 3-4 profiles lol we dont know how the new edition will balance the game and better support existing profiles. its a loss, i love playing Vrasku and Mauhur but hopefully Isengard heroes have a buff to make them more competitive, lets see what the new edition brings before saying if this was a mistake.
Mablung and Angborn are both movie and book characters but no we get rid of them while the movie only Haleth and Bowman (Aldor) get to stay? The consistency is non-existent across all of these choices.

That would have at least made us feel like they are being upfront and transparent with us. This whole thing just makes it feel like they don't like being honest with the customers.

@@NoobsandMen It's more the collecting side for me than anything. It's not really going to impact me because I've been playing and getting stuff for so long, but for newer people they're missing out on so much classic stuff now unless they pay a ton for second hand minis
