This is just one more example of why the DPOY award has been largely a joke for much of the last 20 years. In a league rife with extraordinary athletes, and with some players who stay in the league due to their def. prowess, it's ludicrous to keep giving that award to one player, as if one player is definitively better than all the others. I loved Ben Wallace's playing style, but even he wasn't that much better of a defender than others like Garnett, Duncan, Bryant. And Gobert keeps getting absolutely schooled by the same players that AD is better at defending. He's more athletic than Gobert has ever been and able to more effectively guard mutliple positions.
