But it should be added that for Newcomers the ED Community is highly willing to help out and guide Newcomers through the beginning as well.
Yeah, yeah I know, it's not like i always shut myself in a cave or anything, it's just that i never thought i would find such a highly detailed flight simulator open for the public.
This the absolute best flight sim out there. The community is very helpful in answering questions and helping you live in multiplayer. If anyone is on the fence just dive right in and give it a shot!
After watching this video, it's a little tempting to start playing, but I'm still waiting for the MAC module release! Until then, I will keep watching Grim Reapers videos. His content is very enjoyable to watch.
Alex Ander nah they got training courses on things like that, almost every squadron takes care of the noobies, but it doesn’t hurt to have some experience beforehand
@@splytlyckety i cant tell that, my experience was that i never had ppl complaining about me not knowing anything, i even found 2 guys in the first 1 hour that im now Playing with together, they helped me alot, i can only tell what i experienced, but from my side i can tell almost noone is going to blame u for not knowing something

You forgot the single most important fact about DCS... the community! I know you don't really care too much about us and even ban us from the forum for expressing our opinions but we teach each other, we care for our newbies (for the most part), we invite them in and are friendly to them and encourage them further which leads to more sales for you, we make videos explaining stuff, we make videos showing off your product, we defend it, we bring new tools in, new mods in, new skins, and even new aircraft!. Our success as a community is literally your success as a business. So, recognize this fact, treat us better and realize your full potential.

I've been flying flight sims since TFX in DOS. This is a perfect was to get lost in the sauce after a long day of spreadsheeting and corporate synergy. 58/10 would recommend. If I could afford all the modules, I'd probably never leave my desk again. Excellent work!
Got a really good gaming PC last month, got my oculus 2 connected. Downloaded this last night, saw a video yesterday. Did the start up and take off for the free plane this morning. Took my breath away.
Flanker dont hate on people who play fortnite. Fortnite is fun because it’s accessible to a lot of people regardless of budget. DCS is great but you do need a hefty PC to run it and not to mention not too many people are fans of flight sims. Just like how more people are in to need for speed rather than Assetto Corsa

If you're standing in the edge contemplating diving off into this wonderful thing we call DCS World, DO IT. It may be daunting but it is the single most rewarding "video game" I've ever had the pleasure to experience. It's easy to learn with all of the in game tutorials and TH-cam tutorials by all the great content creators, but it is hard to master.

Such an amazing flight simulator. I am truly fascinated with military aviation because of this game. I started out in the a10c and it was a very hard learning curve at first but it was a learning curve that I absolutely loved all the way through and it felt so rewarding. This game is so satisfying and so rewarding yet there is so much to learn and it can be cruel if you don't know what you're doing but playing with a bunch of friends that know what they're doing can be a great experience. I can hands-down recommend this flight simulator. There's so much more to come and I am looking forward to it. Keep up the great work Eagle Dynamics!

Getting my buddy into dcs world as rio and future TARPS for f14. I never had a problem or thought about it, but he pointed out how daunting it was just getting the game up and running, switching to open beta, updating, linking keys, installing the module. Forgot about a lot of that as I batch scripted it. I do like the flexibility you guys provide with the dcs world environment and tooling, and maybe we've become too dependent on the open beta release, but I think newcomers and non-tech people would be less hesitant to get started if just a couple more things were configurable through UI or install process. :) cheers and keep up the great work. Looking forward to enjoying your products for years to come.
This video got me in! I've already completed the tutorials on the F5 and Huey. Having a blast learning the check list procedures, aircraft system, & weapons delivery. This is far better than I could have imagined and has endless potential.

Do you have a laptop or desktop? And what is your current system's specs? Nowadays your can upgrade a desktop for a reasonable price using new and used components.

So true! The poor old A-10c is still favourite because I have the warthog and all the buttons map. There's something so cool about that sky-tank with all the BBRRRRRRRRT. First time landing the F14 I joined the pattern at like 350kts and was thinking "Hell I'll never get the gear down in time! I'd be doing 180 in my Hog" 😀
Cant thank ED enough for finally creating such a masterpiece for flight/combat flight simmers. And with with combined arms i think it could even be expanded to run a realistic ground mil sim in the future. My mind is continualy blown with possibilities.

Thing 11, even Free SU-25T module gives a lot of fun, way more than You can expect. :D Got half of the modules, but still DEAD and CAS missions in SU-25T are ones of my favorite.

To be honest: Yes you theoretically can play dcs with mouse and keyboard. But it is very hard and unhandy, you will immediately feel that the game is made for HOTAS users. But don't see this as a big minus. After I played about 3 hours with my keyboard I was so fascinated of the game that I bought a cheap HOTAS system (for ca. 65€) just for this game - even tho I was absolutely new to the game and my flights with keyboard were horrible. I do not regret it, it is so much more fun and experience now and I really recommend it to other people as well. I really got to say that the team of eagle dynamics is doing a great job. Keep it up guys!
I had a dream to become an A10 pilot, since i was a kid i just wanted to fly, and protect those soldiers on ground. Sadly i was born with an eye problem, progressive and impossible to reverse, at least i have the chance to do that laser thing, that can repair my eye, but just in 2017 the air force updated the rules, and now people who had that laser thing just can't join. I was devastated by that, knowing i never had the chance to fly by myself, DCS really helped me through the depression this problem caused, now i don't feel bad about not being a real life pilot, but i'm proud to be part of this beautiful comunity. Thanks to the developers from my part.
Best simulation to date. Played it for years and i will play it for the rest of my life. I would post this video on the War Thunder aviation forums so that the idiots that think War thunder is the best ... watch and learn ... but i would get banned :)) All they have is tanks.. if ED starts doing complex tanks .. i'm out of there forever.

Steel armor is ..meh Il-2 tanks only has ww2 plus it's not even playable ..it looks like a late alfa version World of Tanks just can't compete because it's horrible T34 vs tiger tons of bugs i get CTD every 20 minutes.. and so on If you know of another sim for tanks please tell me.
War Thunder is a very different type of game. Most people who play war thunder play realistic or arcade for simple fun. There aren't that many sim players. I don't think WT simulator mode is bad, I just think it's not as in depth as DCS.

The fact that this game is "free" is the best thing about it. You can test if it runs on your PC and all, and if you are happy with it and want to experience something new you can buy other airplanes. When I first started up the game I didnt really know what to do, after like 10 minutes I uninstalled it, lol. But sometime later I got to know it better.
Nothing compares to DCS ..its so far above others .. it has become my dream come true for one of my passions: -> Combat Flight Simming ; I have experienced situations in DCS , which I never could image can happen in a flight sim... It's sooo amazing ...
I've been flying this simulator ever since it got its start 16 years ago and now have about 2,000 flight hours behind me. It's about time someone made this video. Every bit of it is dead on accurate. For a combat flight sim, there is NOTHING like it nor ever will. DCS is just that far advanced. Kids can play in game mode just to sightsee or to actually shoot random things. Or hobbyists can fly like my squad mates and I fly: following NATOPS standards with Cat III carrier recoveries, bomb tossing, squadron level coordinated air attacks, air-to-air refueling and the like. If anyone is interested in state-of-the-art simulated flying, DCS World is the only way to go.

I agree, there is something for everyone, and if you've seen their other videos highlighting the road ahead, this is a great time to get into it. Unlike a console game where it has a limited number of hours of enjoyment before you get bored, this has literally unlimited, as you can make your own missions, download missions from others, get on a server and fly with people from all over the world and make some good friends. I hope the FDA doesn't find out about it, as it IS addictive, Lol!
DCS World with all its modules definitely is the best aviation milsim on the market right now and has been for years. If it had a dynamic campaign system to play around with it would be even better and finally become a true successor to Falcon 4.0. Maybe when the F-16 is out, we will get a dynamic campaign? :D

i just started playing today andddddd already addicted. I first downloaded the game about 2 years ago and got FC3 but have a few things i want to say the tutorials aren't the best for FC3, and there's no free flight for it either. Other than that the game has a semi easy learning process (I would recommend a preflight checklist with the controls for a bit of extra help) and is all around super fun and a great change from all the other simpler flight sims out there now, if only i had enough money to buy all the planes and maybe a PC that can handle missions with more than 4 planes

Yes you theoretically can play dcs with mouse and keyboard. But it is very hard and unhandy, you will immediately feel that the game is made for HOTAS users. But don't see this as a big minus. After I played about 3 hours with my keyboard I was so fascinated of the game that I bought a cheap HOTAS system (for ca. 65€) just for this game - even tho I was absolutely new to the game and my flights with keyboard were horrible.
I do not regret it, it is so much more fun and experience now and I really recommend it to other people as well.

I had a dream to become an A10 pilot, since i was a kid i just wanted to fly, and protect those soldiers on ground.
Sadly i was born with an eye problem, progressive and impossible to reverse, at least i have the chance to do that laser thing, that can repair my eye, but just in 2017 the air force updated the rules, and now people who had that laser thing just can't join. I was devastated by that, knowing i never had the chance to fly by myself, DCS really helped me through the depression this problem caused, now i don't feel bad about not being a real life pilot, but i'm proud to be part of this beautiful comunity. Thanks to the developers from my part.

War Thunder is a very different type of game. Most people who play war thunder play realistic or arcade for simple fun. There aren't that many sim players.
I don't think WT simulator mode is bad, I just think it's not as in depth as DCS.

And I think that worries those that long for more authenticity and realism, seeing that all DCS seems to be right now is stuff like GaW...
The fact that this game is "free" is the best thing about it. You can test if it runs on your PC and all, and if you are happy with it and want to experience something new you can buy other airplanes.
When I first started up the game I didnt really know what to do, after like 10 minutes I uninstalled it, lol. But sometime later I got to know it better.
Get the game including all DLC's for only 1.919,24€ ....
Nothing compares to DCS ..its so far above others .. it has become my dream come true for one of my passions: -> Combat Flight Simming ; I have experienced situations in DCS , which I never could image can happen in a flight sim... It's sooo amazing ...

Two Steps From Hell and DCS equals love
I've been flying this simulator ever since it got its start 16 years ago and now have about 2,000 flight hours behind me. It's about time someone made this video. Every bit of it is dead on accurate. For a combat flight sim, there is NOTHING like it nor ever will. DCS is just that far advanced. Kids can play in game mode just to sightsee or to actually shoot random things. Or hobbyists can fly like my squad mates and I fly: following NATOPS standards with Cat III carrier recoveries, bomb tossing, squadron level coordinated air attacks, air-to-air refueling and the like. If anyone is interested in state-of-the-art simulated flying, DCS World is the only way to go.

I agree, there is something for everyone, and if you've seen their other videos highlighting the road ahead, this is a great time to get into it. Unlike a console game where it has a limited number of hours of enjoyment before you get bored, this has literally unlimited, as you can make your own missions, download missions from others, get on a server and fly with people from all over the world and make some good friends. I hope the FDA doesn't find out about it, as it IS addictive, Lol!

DCS World with all its modules definitely is the best aviation milsim on the market right now and has been for years. If it had a dynamic campaign system to play around with it would be even better and finally become a true successor to Falcon 4.0. Maybe when the F-16 is out, we will get a dynamic campaign? :D

You have to play around with the graphics settings to find the sweet spot, try lowering the pixel density, do not go above 1.7

i just started playing today andddddd already addicted. I first downloaded the game about 2 years ago and got FC3 but have a few things i want to say
the tutorials aren't the best for FC3, and there's no free flight for it either. Other than that the game has a semi easy learning process (I would recommend a preflight checklist with the controls for a bit of extra help) and is all around super fun and a great change from all the other simpler flight sims out there
now, if only i had enough money to buy all the planes and maybe a PC that can handle missions with more than 4 planes
