    There's a reason this is one of the most legendary songs from this series. I know a lot of people think it's overrated, and honestly I can understand why, but Explorers holds an extremely special place in my heart. When I first played it (many years after it came out, probably round 2015) I well and truly felt that it was one of those truly magical experiences Pokemon only ever gives us when its at its absolute best, and that's something I didn't feel again until Legends Arceus just recently. It's always gonna be really special to me for that.
    Utterly fantastic orchestration, it definitely captures the sheer sense of grandiose, mystery, and majesty that I felt when seeing Lapras fly off from the water and approach the Hidden Land for the first time.

      It is the first game that made me cry. To this day a lot of my writing has clear influence from Mystery Dungeon. Can't wait to win an oscar and be like "shoutout to explorers of sky and my boi groovyle"

    All explorers who are visiting this soothing channel knew this was coming...
    Even after all this time after the near end of Treasure Town and it's landmarks's existence, Many pay their respects to our noble scarifice...
    This song is not about a sea of time but a tale of loss, scarifice and never ever forgetting who were once by your side...
    I still miss him...

      @@SpartanChief17C I still kinda wish that there had been a reunion, but I understand from a narrative standpoint why they chose not to go that route. Didn't make it any easier for child-me when I played through Darkness that first time, and I still got teary-eyed in Sky. And somewhere I have a copy of Time, saved just before the plot really kicks off...because a part of me just isn't willing to finally see the story through one last time. (I learned the hard way that I cannot reset a PMD game--I did it with Red Rescue when I was about ten and was devastated for days after. You get really invested as a kid, especially when it's your first playthrough and you really had to fight to make progress)

    The whole cinematic vibe is awesome! I especially love the phrygian version of the melody at the beginning to really build anticipation for the rest of the arrangement, and the changes in instrumentation as the song builds up is just gorgeous...And that section at 3:16 where the Don't Ever Forget ostinato comes in? Perfect👌

    Aw crap I missed the premier :(
    But ho god, to go with the great outro on the Great Glacier arrangement, you made a legendary intro on this one. (Like, SERIOUSLY H o w is this intro soo good) Not to mention the great orchestration in itself.
    But, the best part is how you paced and added these details to the original version, so good in fact you could describe exactly what parts of this corresponds to what happens in the cutscene, especially the final 2 minutes with how you used Don't ever forget's melody to hint at the ending and how it fits perfectly with the slow decent into Hidden land, and finally an epic score to finish off the landing.
    I may not know music stuff but this sure is some great music, finally some good fookin' remix!

    • @drazorleaf
      @drazorleaf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you 😂
      Well, I tried to rewatch the cutscene, and tried to write something on top of it. So the arrangement itself sounds like a movie soundtrack.

    this was great! i wish youtube would send me notifications for your videos like they're supposed to.
    one nitpick, in the segment from 2:03 to 2:08(and the two like it), where the chord progression is f major, g major, a minor, i think it should have been f major, g major, d major. it's my favorite bit of the original, really spices up and gives the song more character. still, it's your work and you can do what you want with it; i really enjoyed this regardless, so thanks for making it!

    • @drazorleaf
