    Checking those gear box bolts was a good idea! I rebuilt one last year that the bolts came loose and it was left long enough till the bolt holes broke out. I had to cut all that center section out and rebuild it. Good video!

      @@HamiltonvilleFarm I had to use a 2 ton bottle jack, set up in a chain sling, pushing on the main shaft while the chain yanked on the stumpjumper arms. I put heat to it, I beat on it, I used a tank car load of PB Blaster. I about gave up, and left the jack under pressure, and went and had me a sandwich. While I was sitting near the mower, all of a sudden there was this loud "Bang!!, ". and the jack, chain, and whole stumpjumper fell off!!! I was about to give up for the day, too. Now loaded the shaft with Permatex antiseize. Not going through that again! Have fun with that drone! I'm looking forward to you getting good at it and picking up neat video! Best, Hank and Gina. Hank, with no close up shots of your brush cutter frame to see what’s what with it, you can take out some lean by adjusting the tilt controls on your 3ph. I have found that a few of my implements need to be adjusted from others. Also realize that one low tire has an effect as does slope of the ground.

    I once changed Bush hog blades on my dad's. This was a 1960s model, long before stump jumper hubs or driveshaft covers. (a spinning driveshaft is something to see! And dangerous!) I didn't have any special tools to flip it, so I used a chain and come along attached to a tree. Wasn't pretty , but it did the job. 🚜

    One thing about blades on a Bush Hog is they are meant to be bunt not sharp. When you are cutting brush you want a cut like a frayed rope so it will kill the brush. Finish mower blades need to be sharp. When you are cutting grass you want a nice clean cut.

    What size sockets and wrenches are you using??

  • @perry9492
    @perry9492 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would it not be easier to cut an access hole in the top to get to the nut as opposed to trying to get that spindle off which in most cases is rusted on? Some have an access hole already. Also, use an impact wrench. Big nuts usually don't come off without one.

    Now that looked ideal for landing my old stinson 170 taildragger. I could wouble through the weeds and get down twice for bouncing to a stop on a red ant hill. Mean little buggers. I seen nests that were four to more feet tall. I can say that they are not fun. I have landed on rivers and beaches, tundra and more... like as in the trees once so thats more. I think I lost a good three pounds on that one landing and don't use my method for losing weight... my belly still hung over the belt. A couple new air fresheners and we were golden an bills your uncle. A new drone hu. a half of america was upset over them but soon as they seen one had to have it. I heard of one going through a barn an out the other side without a glitch so they must have peeking in windows down pat. I kinda just watch you to see what kind of predicament you'ns got yourselves into. Too bad that you lost so much money on the ..... backhoe, excavator... dang now I can't remember what you were working on that give you fits. I'm gonna be 73 in one month so if I forget that date, it will be fine with me as birthdays just hurt anymore. I can go shopping a hour ahead of you but that is it. ..... take care
