I hear ya but from the Astros side. I've always loved them, but for most of their tenure in the National League, it was painful to be a 'stros fan. They had a few great players to cheer on: Jimmy "Toy Cannon" Wynn; Rusty Staub; Cesar Cedeno; Roger Metzer. But except for a few years in the 80s--and their ONE 2005 WS trip when they went belly-up 0-4 to the White Sox who hadn't won a WS in 88 years, they were the NL doormats. Still puzzling why switching over to the AL has made such a huge difference.
@@adellemery3336 I think I remember reading something talking about how the move to the AL was something in the works for awhile. At the time, I hated the move. But I can see why it was done. More even divisions (even though I think the current format could be tweaked) and I think front office thought it was a good way to rebrand the team. Remember, those Astros teams before the move were straight horrid. An absolute doormat for everyone. Obviously hindsight is 20-20 but overall I believe it was a good move. That being said... I do miss the cardinals and cubs rivalries we had

It was the IBB that moved the runner into scoring position that made it 4-2. There's still a remote chance of a long ball tying it had it still be at 3-2. But between walking him and giving up a hit, the odds of him being out is actually 2 out of 3 times.

especially on the rocket hit by Seattle in the 9th that Houston got a DP on.
I’m not sure if “luck” is that right word here. To that specific play (The 9th Inn DP): Yuli is always holding the runner there. No outs and a runner on. If it’s two outs, sure, he might play off the bag. But he has to be on the bag and the batter pulls it down the line. It’s baseball. Plays like that happen quite often. Could have just as easily been a grounder that resulted in a DP.
If you wanna call it luck, sure, but at the end of the day, the Astros got more big hits and more timely ones. Mariners had 7 free passes in game 2 and could only plays one of them. That’s just not finishing.
All that being said, this is a great Mariners team. Reminds me a lot of the 2015 Astros. Wouldn’t be surprised the see the Mariners contend for a WS next year, assuming they make a splashy spend on a big FA this winter. Mariners are 1-2 pieces away from being a title contender.
