Durga Maam, Guru Vandhanam, as always, it was very very interesting & useful learning of the raagas, there cannot be more simple & easy way to explain this topic, pl continue to teach in the same method Maam, as you have suggested, pl prioritise t most important, 15_20 raagas, & give us their composition if possible
One most important requirement is to have an ear for raagas. To an average listener , it is very difficult to distinguish between kaisiki and kakali nishadam in shanmukhapriya or simhendramadhyamam by just hearing. But those with an ear for music can distinguish the two ragas without actually pinpointing the actual nishadam. The point on prayogam is very informative. While both shankarabharanam and kalyani differ only in madhyamam, the prayogas instantly let us identify both even when the madhyamam is not sung. Great video!
