Cod is my most frequented Friday fish dinners. It tastes great boiled in salt water and dipped in melted butter. Works good boiled with carrots, potatoes and celery with onions Even baked in the oven with paprika or your favorite spice ? With the right beer batter, Cod is a CLASSIC WINNER WITH FRENCH FRIES AND A SALAD OR COLESLAW !!!🥰🥰🥰

In 1977, my brother and I went out on a half day fishing jaunt, out of Boston. We used our own fishing rigs, mine a Mitchell-Garcia 300, with 12 lb test line. Caught plenty with zero losses. Make fishing a sport, loose the 50 lb.rigs. I still use my 53 year old reel and rod, a Heddon Pal.
Great fishing you guys. Cod is really good. I'm from Providence Rhode Island but I live in Orlando Florida now. I miss all the seafood from there it's always so fresh and the lobster it's so good nice and sweet. I'm happy for you both glad you enjoyed the fishing.

with the cod fillets, once skinned, hold them up to the light/sun and you can see the small parasitic works in the flesh. They pluck right out with the knife tip. No harm no foul. I spent most of my life fishing Montauk. I've eaten countless cod and its delicious!
I once was a FL Keys fishing guide and I've fished for salmon in AK, CO, and NY. I've eaten every kind of fish there is. IMO, there is nothing that comes close to Atlantic Cod. It's so good the commercial fishing industry almost wiped it out. Thankfully, regulations and common sense prevailed and the Atlantic Cod is making a come back. Best tasting fish this old southern boy has ever eaten.

In Rode Island I fish the tides always. sea bass tip around Block Island 1/8" natural Latex tube 3" long w/t angle tail calm strip on worm hook.

Cod are a lovely fish to eat, here in the UK we batter them and have cod and chips with batter and lots of salt and vinegar.
When I used to sea fish I would always gut a cod to see what food they were eating whilst on the boat.
Should have had salt and vinegar on it and a side helping of mushy peas UK style!
This was like commercial fishing, you guys filled the boat up. I would love to do the same thing. That's a great part of the country for fishing.
