The gentle aura of your personality and the soothing voice makes me listen every single word comes out of your mouth 😊, plus I enjoy the places you take us, I love the journey of exploration ❤❤❤
Thank you so much. I have been following you for a few years now. I knew about some of them but never had a moment to visit. We will definitely be visiting a few of these when in Rome.
We've been to all these gardens. Watching your video makes me feel like I'm right there. I love hearing the cicadas and I can almost taste the cold refreshing water. Rome is a true treasure. Thank you Alyssa.
I'm working my way thru The Great Courses "The Guide to Essential Italy" with Kenneth Bartlett, which is excellent, but, so far, has been lots & LOTS of BUILDINGS. Being from the Garden State, i.e. Victoria, Australia, & daydreaming about travel, I realised the first place I'd head for in Rome, the first place, well maybe second after the trattoria, I'd want to know about wd be a nice, quiet shady spot to sit on the seat of my walker, having refilled my water bottle, Thank you, the guide, as armchair tourism & suggestions, was more than I'd hoped for: as professional & informative as The Great Courses, with admirable, creative filming & editiing, with a very personal, beguiling one on one pov. Thanks, mate 😁
Thank you so much for your kind comments. It's true, some of the things people most want to see are the famous sites, monuments, and piazzas. But I, too, often crave a quiet, calm, green space and I'm glad you agree. I am deeply flattered that you so kindly compare me to the Great Courses which is such an excellent series. Thank you for watching and for letting me know this video resonated with you. I appreciate it very much.
Starting to plan my next visit there in about 2 years and just wanted to say thank you, lots of memories and interesting infos :) Yup. I knew of the first one as well as the last two.
Some parks do, but not all They are run by different entities. Also some of the parks I mention are very small and there is simply no place for a bathroom. You'll want to look for a nearby café. Thanks for letting me know you enjoy my videos!
It has been sunny and HOT since June - we actually could use some rain right about now! Hope you have a wonderful visit to Venice and Milan, although Milan weather has not been like Rome weather this summer.
Hi Elyssa, we visited the Casa dell'Architettura as our hotel was across from Santa Maria Maggiore, well worth a visit like we did for a little shade from last weeks very hot weather have also been to the garden of Castel Saint Angelo on a previous visit and bought 2 paintings from a local artist who was at the exit. Great video again of beautiful places to visit that you never knew were there.
Oh that's so nice! You were staying in a wonderful area. I'm glad to got to visit this sweet little park. I find most people have never heard of it! FYI their café is reopening this week.
Yes I love Villa Sciarra, too! There are so many small parks and gardens like this all over Rome. I just wanted to share where people could take a break while sightseeing.
Hi , question Which piazza has most restaurants bars Cafes around ? Im looking to visit rome and i want to find a place where is surrounded by restaurants because night time i want everything close to me. Thank you very much
Rome is full of neighborhoods that have lots of cafe's and restaurants. Some of the most central areas are Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon. You might find my page on the website helpful: www.romewise.com/rome-neighborhoods.html
Recently a friend and I tried to enter the park at Piazza Venezia and a woman approached us and denied us entry. We had to walk around the entire block in the Heat to enter thru the back entrance.
Wow that is so strange. I can't imagine why unless they were holding some event there. I have been hundreds of times and have never seen anyone "guarding" the entrance. That's terrible it happened to you especially in this heat!
Please see the description - you are entitled to a 5% discount if you book your tour through Tiqets using the link and discount code I provided. The reality is that most tour groups are trying their best to offer good services. It really comes down to the person you wind up with as your guide. So I would book with a reliable tour company and hope you get assigned an excellent guide. It's different if you want a private guide. If you are interested, we offer a service in which we book private tours. Just write us at alessandro@romewise.com.
Thank you for letting me know you are interested in learning more about me and my background. You can read a short bio about me and about why I moved to Rome more than 20 years ago, and why I know so much about Rome here on the romewise website: www.romewise.com/about-romewise.html Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!
You keep showing "secret" locations. Once you show them on your channel, they are no longer secret!!! They will now be overrun by instagram "influencers"
I really appreciate your thinking I have that much "influence" but I am not sure my videos will actually bring that many big crowds to these spots. But thank you for saying so! 😊

Villa Sciarra is excellent as well, perhaps just a bit outside central Rome, but worth the visit.
Yes I love Villa Sciarra, too! There are so many small parks and gardens like this all over Rome. I just wanted to share where people could take a break while sightseeing.
The Orange Garden on the Aventino Hill also hosts the famous Knights of Malta Keyhole just a few steps down the road.
Yes there is a lot to see on the Aventine Hill including the Basilica of San Saba, among other churches. Topics for a separate video! :)
And a nice big park with a Cafe’ on Colle Oppio, a big shady place to sit and have caffè on your way to Domus Aurea!
I love that little café. It's definitely another nice park near the Colosseum!
