1:26 bass solo kicks in. After back to back to back epic root-to-7 riffs, Joe launches a potent run at which point drummer Nate breaks out in a huge smile. The camera pulls back to discover Cory with a giant open-mouthed smile, and then, as the camera pulls all the way back, Mark is finally revealed to be smiling as well. It's awesome that one bass solo can bring so much joy. Music is excellent.
Mark Lettieri: stand here real cool in my shades and play guitar Cory Wong: stand here real cool in my shades and play guitar too Joe Dart: YOU CAN'T CONTAIN THE HEAD BOBS
@@jeshuaedwards3788 Snarky Vulf it's kinda cool, But Fearless Flyers dressed up as pilots with "aviator's suits" and sunglasses, well it's just spot on.
I've seen this TH-cam video several time. I just happened to see that this extremely funky drummer, Nate Smith, is playing on the most anorectic drum set you could even think of. No toms, no crash cymbals. Just kick, snare and a hi-hat. Fantastic!
Nate and Joe are such a killer rhythm section that it' understable that they both individually and collectively get their due and a lot of comments. And Cory is fantastic and deserves his praise. But Mark L. is amazing and doesn't get enough love. He is amazing. I love this combination of musicians.
I love metal, and I love funk and Vulfpeck. I can rattle off plenty of metal drummers who rock a 4 piece, and still have groove and chops. I just think it's dumb to bring in a completely different genre to prove a point.... that can be easily disproved.
I mean garibaldi would work here no doubt but that's about it unless you meant just adding the horn section, which would be too good to be true. On the 5th track "Barbara," Nate Smith has some real garibaldi vibes in the beginning drum groove so I can't say you're the first person to think of this lmao
is this real life? to say i never coiuld expect this band to form would be a lie becuase, why not? these guys are chill cats that love funk might as well jam . but holy hell man joe dart and cory wong (the two true funk masters of the vulf gang if you ask me) and mark letteri is enough for me (just add anyone thats played with vulf on drums and you've got yourself a supergroup) but then they add the man, the myth, the motherfunkin LEGEND NATE SMITH into this lineup and drop it on youtube like its no big deal. this is the cleanest tightest funk ever to grace my ears. i'm overwhelmed right now. vulf just dropped out of my "number one band i need to see live spot" these guys are something holy.
I Know that's right ! Love this 'Fearless' Funk ! ...takes me back to my childhood playing drums in our trailer with our fabulous R &B & Funk records ♡♡♡♡♡♡
Good to see Joe's head still attached to his shoulders. I worry about that boy.
@golden turd Zeniru joe darthritis
LOL!!!!
Hahaha Ralph. Yeah. But no worries dude. Joe's neck defies all physiological logic.
He is like a bobble head
Looooool i agreeee loool
love that the Category is "education". Damn right it is.
This comment just made my day thank you!
Haha! Right on :-D
Yoyoka watches this for guidance.
Weird...
Musical education!! Totally right!! 😂
Guitars had to be bolted down and drums put on bricks to keep up with a groove that tight.
What an utterly spiffing comment!
Joseph Giardella Thanks you rambunctious little pumpkin.
You ain't kidding
Damn well explained 😄
Alex Ball Ha ha ha ha ha I love you comment. That is sooo on point man.
Nate isn't in the pocket, he IS the pocket

Spot on! Those special moments are what make all the other stuff worth while.
Didn’t notice. I was too busy picking my jaw up off the floor.
If the camera zoomed out even more they would have found me behind my computer monitor also with a huge smile.
For some reason Cory's smiling profile looked vaguely like Roger Waters with the shades on and now I can't unsee it
Great comment. Music is excellent. So true. Especially when it's excellent
Mark, Joe and Cory?
I'm pretty sure all this funk can power a small country.
...to literally say nothing of the drummer. Dudes and their Toothless funk
You can power Russia with all this funk
How do you not mention Nate Smith, probably the best at each one of their respective instruments.. and that’s saying ALOT
a true statement ... they could power the galaxy with that much Funk !
@@corybutler573 and it's just a snare, hi-hat and the kick (a rather small one) and his sound is massive. The guy's a beast.
Thank you Joe, Cory, Mark and Jack for the music!
You're a MASTER, Sir!!! Technique, creativity and groove at the highest (im)possible level!!!! A HUGE FAN from Brazil
Huge fan from Brazil 2
if only I could play like you
Why do you guys gotta make me smile at my computer like an idiot all the time!? Thank you for sharing your skills with us!
nate smith does more with those three pieces than anyone else could with a whole kit. dude is unreal
1:32 Joe brings a smile to everybody's face.
Mark Lettieri: stand here real cool in my shades and play guitar
Cory Wong: stand here real cool in my shades and play guitar too

Are we just going to ignore the fact that the guitars and bass are attached to mic stands?
Too funky to talk about :D

Ugh... people. I know. Hate em...

I love how the drummer Nate loses composure at 1:33 because Joe is just groovin so hard on that bass! That grin says it all.
awesome.
This is the best thing that's ever happened to anyone ever anytime ever.
Love how the rest of the group laughs at how good Joe Dart is on that one riff. Yeah you know the one
Joe,you are my biggest inspiration and I am really blown away by your genius playing, cheers from this 15 year old bass player!!

Vulf is this a single, an EP, or an LP?
I think this link is broken, btw.
David McLaughlin worked okay for me, but the Qrates website is being a little buggy. Keep trying!
Had to put the ol' www. infront of the qrates link to get it working
Yeah, the website doesn’t specify what kind of record this is: single, EP, LP?
Nate Smith AND Joe Dart in the same groove?!?! You've got to be kidding me!
Dear god. This Monday just got turned to 11.
Yep, sitting at work and the funk is hitting me hard
But it’s 4:30 in the afternoon
11 is my favorite day of the week
yup!
Love how The Wonger looks over every time *ANY REASONABLE PERSON* would expect Mark to bust out a stank face. A hard stoic, that Mark!

Braddles B Genious

Who's here to watch the original after the latest release?
Love the band's reaction for Joe's great bass fill.
I love the way all three guitar necks are pointing in the same direction as the the linear pattern of the drum set.
Snarky Pecker
I must have played this track dozens of times. It is so slick and funky. Wowsers.
Mark Lettieri is one of my favorites, really cool to see him playing together with you guys.
This IS the Jam - nothing tighter, the groove is a perfection! Nate Smith - could listen to you ALL DAY (one drummer to another!)
IF you are surviving in the wild, it's good to have Mark Lettieri's right hand to start a camp fire
I keep coming back, this clears my head.
Keeping that rhythm right as hell there. Mark really is a monster on the strat. Dinner tonight is gonna be a g-bomb salad and some new funky tunes
this is so cool. And the snare sounds so good. He put that stank in the beat for sure.
Joe Dart playing is incredible.... I need to watch this everyday
This whole Vulf thing is what the world needs. So glad this exists in the world.

all these metal drummers with over a bjilkihboihbjllion toms, this guy only needs a hat, a tiny kick, and a snare.

I was joking, I love metal and also know plenty minimalist metal drummers, I realise comparing them is stupid, that was the joke.
Word, brother. Either way, we agree minimalist drummers are the shit!
True
To be fair, that open hi hat sound did get a little monotonous. Not Nate's fault though
Love to hear this kind of music! 6 years late, but never too late for the vibes!
Sorry I'm late... the traffic from Dean Town as slow! This is epic! :D
I have listened to this so many times my wife and kids have left me because it’s all I play 🔥🔥🔥
Always makes me smile this one, what a groove
Greatest bass player of all time for nailing that. Holy cow!!
You can't top this lineup. You can't.
With George John ringo and Paul you sure can
Ringo wasn't even the best drummer in his own band

This is a super tight funky groove from start to finish. How can there be 63 people who don't like it? Why?
Their body language, smiles throughout, and reaction at the end lets you know this didn't require many takes to get right. These guys are MACHINES.
When Nate's smiling, you know the groove is happenin!
I know nothing about drums, but Nate Smith knocks me out!
nice to see ya'll getting back to your funk roots.
